2. Those are two completely different pieces

The Rolex is hands down the winner, but I don't compare Omegas to Rolex.

I put Omega in the same category as Movados.

6. I beg to differ....

They are both certified chronometers. Omega simply isn't overpriced...well. it is, but not as much as Rolex.

7. Omega says Ouch!

They both track two time zones at a glance using a 24hr hand for the second time zone. Both are waterproof to any recreational diving depth. Which is a moot point for me

3. Save your money and get this.

$245 from http://www.megawatch.cn/rolex-collection/gmtmasterii

You'll still impress people, (which I'm sure is your real motive), but you'll save a bundle.

8. No thanks!

Even folks who don't own Rolex can spot the fakes. I've had swiss watches since the 80's a couple TAGs and an Omega. I have no car payments and no debt other than a house payment, so why not buy a watch?

The more recent replicas...I'm not talking "Canal St." junk...

21. Your probably right about that Frank

But there are legitimate watches (citizen, casio, seiko) I'd be happy to wear for the same $.

5. Equally good watches....

but isn't the Omega 1/2 the price of the Rolex? Otoh, I suspect that the Rolex will hold its value better, if only for the name.

9. I completely agree, the craftsmanship and tech is equal

Both use in-house custom movements. All things being equal I'd buy the Omega. But Rolex is one of only a couple swiss watch brands that holds its value extremely well. I'm leaning towards Rolex.

11. Economical, but doesn't meet my wristwatch needs

I can't use a back-lit screen an hour before sunrise on hunting trips.

15. Heh. I have several watches and still look at my iPhone all the time.

Funny how that became ingrained to quickly.

I even have an Apple Watch which I can send receive texts...I still check my phone to see if I received any.

22. I got one at Xmas

I loved the map directions while driving! Answering phone calls when the phone is across the room is the bomb. That said I regifted it to my teen. I called 911 accidently from the watch while sitting in the dark hunting. That ended my Apple Watch love.

13. I must be a BIG Wristwatch Guy

I know the Rolex is probably the superior item but the look of the Omega just draws me to it

It's the one I'd wear 👍

16. Big cases work for me up to a point

I've got Popeye forearms and need extra links for my watches. So normal size cases look girlie on my wrist. I know a watch case is too big if the crown stabs into the back of my hand when extended upward.

I like the Omega's looks better, but the Rolex will more value ten years on.
