Sharing a bit of my life . . . .

They still hang around - from last summer:

and of course the ever present deer:

Spotted this guy from the picture window beside my "throne" in November 2017

then spotted his friends, and followed them from the bedroom to the front porch

and yeah - that's me sporting my winter fur - too lazy to crop myself out

4. When we got back last night

From picking up a few things to lay in before the storm. You could hear a whole group of coyotes yipping and howling somewhere nearby. I haven't seen them yet, but I see their prints in the snow out behind the house.

I have a close friend who put a salt block right outside his kitchen door. He's got a big 8-point buck coming up onto his patio. He thinks it's great. I told him he may think it's cool now, but wait until next year during the Rut when that big boy decides you're a rival and goes after you every time you step outside.

7. I love foxes.

They're so agile, swift, sleek and lovely.

Gotta say, you had me completely fooled. I thought you were just a young whippersnapper.

Taken thru my pic window while sitting on the couch April 2015

OH - ya shoulda just read my profile - it does mention I'm retired - there's a clue

Yeah, yeah - I know - most members don't put squat in there - and of those that do - much of it ain't worth reading.

11. If you get any

with their little faces showing please post it. I saw the biggest male red fox ever in the east TN mountains. I've never seen one like him since. He had long, silky looking red hair; it was almost Afghan hound like. He was standing like a statue near my cabin drive. I watched him until he slowly and stately eased off. God he was beautiful!

I don't know when was the last time I looked at a profile. You're right, I don't expect to see anything, so I don't bother.

10. I have to keep reminding myself of just that

My being here is a compounding of lucky breaks - unexpected inheritance allowed me to purchase this outright, and one of my friends, who is also a local real estate agent came to me as soon as this place was put on the market.

I "bought" it b4 I ever entered any of the buildings - as soon as we rounded the corner into the fields and house area, my heart was sold on it. Offer to purchase was submitted to and signed by the seller within a week . . . .

28 acres at the dead end of a private road over a mile long - can't beat that for peace and serenity

The road that goes past my house is mine - not part of the private road/easement. My property actually starts on the road about 300 feet b4 the house - straight down from the P in Dave's Place

I'm Dave

OH - you wanted a closer look? - OK then . . .

14. No, me neither!!!

You just stay there Dave!
We're not jealous A BIT, darn it!
I'm sure its all quiet and stuff!
How can you stand it?
Get up every morning to peace and quiet and nature and all!
I would get really tired of that stuff.
In a couple of decades, maybe!
But maybe not.

Enjoy!
