Job applicants losing out after AI screens social media history

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/video/didnt-get-the-job-robots-may-not-have-liked-your-social-media-activity/vi-BBRAINP?ocid=chromentp

It's a video about the algorythim and whatever else being used to get your updates from last weekend with the pics of your umbrelled drink in one hand and the doobie in the other, and a potential boss says nope, actually the AI says "nope", because how are you gonna sue the AI?

A human boss, sure, he (or she) was just too close minded and bigoted to embrace the new age way of having fun on the weekend with doobies and jello shots, you're allowed to woo hoo it once in a while and that company needs sued for discrimination.

But not when a computer is turning you down for the job. Who do you sue?

That's the only reason stories like this keep popping up, they're warning everyone to watch their social media history, they admit computer programs are monitoring it and there is evidence people are losing out on jobs, maybe for a lifetime depending on their profession and the indiscretion, but it's a computer doing the discriminating and not a person and thats why it's being allowed to continue, and will get worse.

Telling yourself not to do something while drunk you otherwise wouldn't do? Yeah, right

1. All those questionable FaceBook photos are now in dozens (hundreds? thousands?) of databases...

… ready to reappear at the worst possible moments in your future, for as long as you live...

Did I mention that I've never joined FaceBook and wouldn't have an eternally-evesdropping Alexa (etc.) in my house?...

3. Wven when it was just BITNet and ApaNet I knew it would be forever

It isn't just Millennials who make this forever mistake. Their parents did it first.

It amazes me how much detailed info my nieces and nephews (and grand nieces and nephews) put on social media. If I was an identity thief I would be in hog heaven. And then they tell REAL thieves when they are not home so said burglers can just casually drop by and clean them out.

Dumber than dirt. And I tell them so.

5. It likely started back when the well-to-do folks would put a notice in the newspaper...

… "Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Moneybags of 5 Uberrich Lane will be spending the Winter vacationing in the Caribbean" and the poor burglars who couldn't afford the travel, but who COULD afford to buy a newspaper would smile...

2. i do not like the trend of people losing jobs due to social media posts.

however, we should all be aware enough at this point that we should not be posting all this stupid shit for public consumption.

if people cannot figure that part of life out, i am not gonna feel bad for them. we are too far into this now.

my facebook posts are pictures of my daughter, and comments on sports.

i post dick pics and racist rants anonymously..like any decent person would do.
