One doesn't have to be all upset and bent out of shape

if one doesn't want to be.

The root of such a problem's easy to discern; perhaps one is wishing, or hoping, for the wrong things.

And so if one changes one's desires or wants, one might find joy and happiness.

So for all those upset with President Trump or Republicans or conservatives or Jews, probably if they changed from hating those people to loving those people, they might find life worth living.

Just an idle thought late at night.....

2. Generally speaking

I'm pretty ambivalent about people not directly involved in my life.

4. Well now, remember that famous line in Dickens' "A Christmas Carol,"

".....humanity is my business....."

Also remember that famous quote, slightly revised, from the socialist Eugene Debs, "as long as there is a man unhappy (imprisoned), then I (am imprisoned) too have no right to be happy....."

That there appears to be a great many people on this message board who are unhappy and wretched should concern us all, even if we don't know them personally.

There's this headline on Drudge: The Longest Day for Trump's Adversaries...

If the president's adversaries, instead of being so pissy and negative about him, would instead appreciate and like him, they'd become happier and more fulfilled. They need to ditch their Hate and resentment so as to become better people, and can best do that by changing their attitude.

5. I guess it comes from being an only child, which both my wife and myself are.

Neither one of us do well in groups. We both work in ways that can only be done on a solitary basis. The idea of "team" is anathema to both of us, if I cannot perform a job function on my own I'm simply not interested; it strikes me as being mired in hell. We keep an extremely small cadre of people we allow into our personal lives, and it takes a long time to earn a spot there. For both of us there are significant portions of even our families that are not a part. It's hard to have a level of concern for strangers when you avoid having involvement with people. It's why for the most part I just don't care what others do so long as it does not affect me or the ones I love.

6. Well, nothing wrong with that; I wasn't putting you down, sir,

because you're s-o-o-o-o-o-o obviously not one of the haters and resenters here, having a well-balanced and eminently fair "take" on other people. Also, I've never noticed you blame your problems on others.

7. No... I have plenty of problems, most all self inflicted. ;)

I suppose what I was trying to say is your personality later in life is at least in part formed by your experiences while young, for good or ill.

3. Reminds Me Of A Sign

I saw at a little Gift Shoppe near Crater Lake.

"YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE CRAZY TO WORK HERE.

But it helps."
