"Just something to think about.

"If cattle and dairy cows were a country, they would have more greenhouse gas emissions than the entire EU 28," said Chu, who recently assumed the presidency of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Chu lumped the greenhouse gas emissions from meat and dairy with other agricultural practices, such as fertilizer, and land-use changes, such as deforestation and soil disruption. He weighted the resulting greenhouse gases for lifetime and potency, showing that emissions from agriculture are a bigger problem than emissions from energy.

"Let me say it again: agriculture and land-use generates more greenhouse gas emissions than power generation."

Chu described the unnatural effects of industrial agriculture: what he called "oversexed corn" that devotes all its life energy to making giant kernels, pigs that gain 280 pounds in a matter of months, turkeys so breast-heavy they can't mate and must be artificially inseminated—a planet dominated by animals modified and raised and slaughtered to feed humans.

"Let me tell you how the carbon mass of animals is distributed," Chu said, referring to a recent study of biomass on earth. "Humans and the animals we eat are 96 percent of the carbon mass (of mammals) in the world."

1. Thought about it. Realized I don't care. Still not buying the Climate Change hoax.

3. Well, here's something more to think about.

Any excesses and abuses in agriculture are because your people are always yelling-and-screaming for cheap goods, in this case, cheap groceries.

How much more would you be willing to pay, so that such excesses and abuses aren't necessary?

Like, if it reduced cattle flatulence, would you be willing to pay twenty-five bucks for a Big Mac, the high price discouraging demand for beef, and hence beef production?

Expensive goods = clean environment. Cheap goods = despoiled environment.

That's the choice one has to make.

5. Just something to think about The huge cities create more greenhouse emissions than the red states

So there is a tiny part of our nation that emits more than half of our greenhouse emissions and do not produce hardly any of the necessities of life.

They need the red states and counties for food, electrical power, fuel, and water, in fact they can not exist without these things that we have and/or produce.

Now, what exactly is it that we need from them? A port, yes, but that can be managed and run by a few people. Anything and everything the cities contribute can be done by much fewer people out here in the red country.

We really don't need them nearly as much as they think we do.
