one movie that tells two stories

On the recommendation of a member here, I ordered and watched a DVD of the 1966 movie "Is Paris Burning?" about the liberation of Paris in August 1944.

It's a great movie, and although three hours long, one wishes it'd be six.

I was struck by the second story--the elections of 2016-- the movie told, the first of course being the original event.

Imagine the Parisians as being Republicans and other decent and civilized people in a place occupied by the Germans, in this case Democrats, primitives, freeloaders, overpaid broad-bottomed desk-sitting governmental employees, and other societal parasites, who've wielded absolute control over them (and their pocketbooks) for years.

Imagine the Free French and Americans as being Republicans and other decent and civilized people as those in unoccupied reliably-red states.

The Parisians couldn't liberate themselves; they needed this outside help to drive the Germans--Democrats, primitives, freeloaders, &c., &c., &c.--and so it happened; Paris was liberated from the tyranny of those who wish to dominate, to control, all of us.

Heart-warming movie, "Is Paris Burning?"

2. Good film.

Even the dastardly Nazis refused to destroy beautiful Paris.
