That was close enough for me

I enlisted in peace time, I gotta hand it to those who go when they know it’s likely they are gonna see some “shit”

7. So did I, but I had a lot of training prior...

Due to my size I got to mix it up with the boys. It was fun.

10. You are a Totally "Dynamic" Person

I stumble into things till I've had Coffee

I think that's Great....I wish I had more Motivation!

If your position is overrun I suppose thats your only hope

When I was growing up I had a friend whose Older Brother was in Vietnam (when the M-16's were jam prone) and the story I heard was they were assaulted and overrun and he killed 4 NVA with an E-tool!

I was over their house when he was asleep on the couch and his Mother told my friend

"Wake up your Brother for Supper but DON'T touch him"

11. The cadre preferred to have women work with women

for all the obvious reasons. I am 6ft tall and had a martial arts experience. I was as big a many of the men and did not mind working out against them. Some of the time I worked out against a junior instructor. Sometimes I was the demonstration dummy. I understand the reasons for having women train against women, but most of the time we are going to be fighting a man, so why not start in training?

Part of the reason for this kind of training is to drive home that you are weapon, the rifle, knife, or shovel is just the tool. That is the mindset that is needed. It is not something most sailors need but is essential for ground forces engaged in close combat. The other thing is to remove the hesitation some might have. If it is that up close and personal, delaying means you die.

I am getting a little old for that stuff these days, but still...Hooah!
