Anyone know of an LED grow lamp for a tree?

My wife went nuts and bought a 6 1/2 foot tall lemon/lime tree for the house. This is all well and good aside from the fact that when we rebuilt the house after the fire we had Low-E glass installed house-wide, which means it's virtually impossible to grow plants of any kind, since they don't get the right kind of light. This means I'm going to have to put a grow light on it in the winter to keep it alive. The problem is I can't find one tall enough. Everything I am seeing is on a stand 3 or 4 feet tall. Has anyone seen anything taller?

1. Your probably going to have to attach something to your ceiling.

Those grow lamps on stands don’t put off nearly enough light to keep that tree alive nevermind bear fruit.

Here’s a short vid:

Adding: Id also recommend supplemental lighting around the sides of the tree. Where you have no natural light whatsoever, you’ll need all the artificial light you can get.

I’d also recommend getting some Superthrive ASAP and using it as part of your regular watering routine. It’ll be under constant stress with no natural light but the superthrive will help immensely.

4. That's exactly what I ended up doing

I ended up getting some sort of sodium light ceiling mounted hanging weirdness. I feel shitty, We were a 100% LED home until this. The LED fixture they had was obscenely huge.

5. You can get some great LED fixtures online but yeah...

most stores don’t stock a very good selection. Be careful with the high pressure sodium light. Those things get hot as hell. Usually those are used in conjunction with metal halide lights and I’m guessing whoever sold it to you thought you were growing weed. Flowering herb is pretty much what they’re good for.

Is it at least 1000w?

6. Yeah, we call it the "Dope Grower's Store" ;)

Considering the instructions begin with "We hope you dig it!", it's pretty obvious who their target demographic is.

Actually it's a pretty good place called High Tech Gardening Supply. They do a lot of hydroponic stuff. It's going to go in our living room, which has 14 foot cathedral ceilings. I'm figuring with the tree being about 7 or so feet tall, I'll just hang the damn thing on about 3 foot chains to keep it away from the ceiling. They threw in a timer. I'll just have to finagle a way to conceal the cord down the wall.
