Jesus on the cross.

"Father/my god, father/my god, why have you forsaken me?"
I thought he was god. Who the fuck is he talking to?
Also, he planned the whole thing, so why is he acting all surprised he didn't come and save himself?
Lmao.
Poor Jesus.

2. I wasn't even born yet.

At least Jesus had the insight to save me from the disease HE gave me at birth.
The disease of being a human.
What would we have done without him?
Lol

9. He didn't give you the disease.

Satan did by giving it to your ancestors.

It's not Jesus's fault that people are too sorry to keep his rules. Put on a condom and stop listening to the snake.

14. No. Satan didn't give us the disease.

God created the disease and the humans that carry it.
Then tells us he's the cure.
If we don't accept the cure for whatever reason, we reject it or never even heard about it, we are tortured for eternity.
Think about that.

3. I never really did

get that whole they're all the same being but all separate too. Or at least, that's how it always sounded to me.

One of the good things about being an atheist...only one devil that the Faithful are sure I am worshiping. Way less confusing

5. If God had actually inspired the bible.

There would be no discrepancies.
We'd know he was real without a doubt and there would be no room for interpretation in these cases.
Nobody can make up their minds on what the "perfect word of god" actually means..
Lmao..
It's so ridiculous.

11. Now see....

if the devil had written a book with that many discrepancies, people like my Fundy sister would claim that he was trying to "trick" people.

And if that's the case, then why would that assessment not also apply to god and the bible? Why would god want to play tricks on his believers?

And if I asked her that question, she would reply that he would only be "testing our faith".

OMG WTF. If I wanted to play head games like that, I would try to reason with a drunken four year old.

15. Why would god deliberately try to deceive you

Into not believing him by "testing your faith". Especially if he knows you are faithful.
Then punish you for it if it doesn't go his way and you believe his deception.

Sounds like something Satan would do.

20. See...

Perfectly sensible!

And definitely something Satan would do. He sounds like a fun guy.

And, as Billy Joel sang...

"I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints...the sinners are much more fun..."

4. Jesus died for our sins. But why did God create sin?

The creation of sin seems like something that an omniscient, omnipotent, and benevolent God would not do.

6. Apparently he couldn't give us free will without

The ability to sin.
Beyond his power I guess.
Lol.
Then again, god knows everything that will happen so there really is no free will. It's all part of his plan.

7. According to recent experiments, free will is an illusion

Brainwave analysis indicates that your brain makes choices before your mind becomes conscious of them.

10. That sounds like doing what you're used to or taught.

This is why people say to think before you act.

Although if this was true, it would sure explain our current president.

8. It's a psalm of David.

https://biblehub.com/psalms/22-1.htm

New International Version
For the director of music. To the tune of "The Doe of the Morning." A psalm of David. My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish?

Also, Jesus was human. He was one with God, but separate. He was also beaten and maybe a little bit delirious.

He did it to save us sorry humans.

that with all the "miracles" he performed, it was either a mass hallucination

or

he was the David Copperfield of his time

17. Jesus was only human depending on who you talk to.

Which is what I mean.
If it was the inspired true word of God, why would that be even in debate?

18. Because language gets in the way.

Greek and Ancient Hebrew aren't easy languages to get a direct, accurate translation into English.
