Megachurch congregation approves Lamboghini for pastors wife

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/megachurch-pastor-receives-rousing-support-from-congregation-after-giving-dollar200k-lamborghini-to-wife/ar-BBR6w50?ocid=chromentp

I bet they did it just because they weren't gonna allow "the man" to tear down a "good preacher" who might have gotten a little greedy with the funds, we'll take care of that in house but as far as the world's concerned "we got no problem with this".

My thinking is material items place barriers between you and God because they distract your attention from him.

IMO it's not that he wants constant "thank you thank you you're so gracious blah blah blah", it's just that the recognition itself gives him power, and there's a war going on between him and our enemy who gets plenty of recognition.

Even though most people will deny thats who they're serving, while they're dancing around the peripheral of the pit indulging in the various bait spewing out of it.

I'm not sure I've seen a mega church yet I felt a draw to, it's not like I go to church itself as of now but I do watch a lot on TV and listen to stuff on the radio, but when I see a stage that could hold a Pink Floyd concert my eyebrow gets raised. Joel Olsteen is one of the biggest he always has a good message but never talks about the judgement of God, never. We need corrected and punished just like kids when being brought up it's as simple as that.

As for me I'm still looking for a NeoDavidian compound. Maybe I should quit looking and just start my own.

2. There's one asshole that just bought his 3rd

Private jet.
His reason..
He won't have to refuel on his trips and can bring the word of God to people faster.

They are nothing but charlatans and thieves.

It really is a pity there is no hell for them to burn in.

5. They are all pretty much the same.

You get a nutcase that thinks he's Jesus.
He fucks all the women, takes all your money and convinces you to either kill yourself or get killed defending the cult.

Cults are for extremely weak-minded individuals. Give yourself a little more respect than that man.

6. As long as he didn't gain the money illegally it's nobody's business

what the guy does with his personal finances.

I'm not religious so I have no attraction to any church, much less a mega one, but as far as I'm concerned people can worship at a megachurch and donate to one if they damned well please. (pun intended)

I care more about the government redistributing wealth by force.

7. Sure.

People can give money to psychics and flat-earthers if they want.
They are still being fleeced either way.

To be so deluded that you think your donations should be used to buy super cars for the wife of a grifter using religion as a disguise to rip people off tax-free and then be scared to oppose it, must be a shitty way to go through life.
It's just a religion folks. You don't need to give them anything.

9. Right. I used to think that way.

Until you realize it isn't voluntarily.
They feel a lot of pressure to "donate" and some require it. Sure they can leave the church, but having so much invested into their identity they feel they can't leave and keep writing checks.

I used to say "fuck 'em" if they want to get ripped off, until I realized I was being indifferent and ignorant of the actuality of the situation.
So now I see them for what they are. Con artists. Ripping people off. Liars and thieves.
I'm not OK with people being ripped off, "voluntarily" or otherwise.

They are no better, and in fact, even worse than the IRS and other types of phone scammers. They are using people deeply held faith and beliefs to milk them out of their money. If.your mother was ripped off by a phone scammers, would you say she voluntarily gave them money and it's nobody's business? No.
They truly are pieces of shit.

10. To me it's more or less the same as people making political donations

Because most politicians use deeply held faith and beliefs to milk people out of their money.

But politicians are much worse because they then use the power they gain to steal money from all people via taxation.

11. It's not the same though.

Would you be OK with a politician using his donations to buy his wife a Lamborghini?
He got the money legally.
Luckily there are rules for preventing that type of shit, or I guarantee they would be doing it.

No rules for these assholes though.
No tax either. They contribute nothing to the welfare of the country.
I'm sure he's found a way to avoid the tax on that lambo too.

12. Did you even read the article?

He didn't even buy the SUV with his church salary nor did he buy it with church donations. And even if he did use his salary it's still his own personal business what he does with his salary.

So he didn't loot donations to buy the car - which would be a criminal act. (My prior post refers to him getting the money legally, not illegally.)

If Hillary buys Bill a car with her salary or her other personal funds then that's her business. If she loots her campaign funds to do so then that would be illegal, just like the pastor looting church donations to buy a car would be illegal.

14. There's no evidence that he looted church funds to buy the car

If he did then that is a criminal act and also a violation of tax law.

He'd be pretty dumb to openly and publicly do such a thing, now wouldn't he?

18. Sorry but it's none of your business how other people donate or spend their own money

As I stated, I care much more about politicians who TAKE your money (by force of law) and spend it however suits their political careers.

19. It doesn't make it right to take it if you don't need it.

I never said anything bad about the people donating the money. I don't fault them for donating. I readily admit they are being fleeced or ripped-off, but that's not degrading them for being ripped off.
I blame the thieves taking their money because they know how to lie to get it. They prey on their faith in god and tell them that good things will come to them.
The congregation doesn't just decide, out of the blue, to give these people tons of money.
They lie about what they need the money for and they never have enough.

17. Well, if he used church funds and not his salary, it's the business of the donors, parishioners

And the church board/deacons/elders that the pastor answers to.

16. My thoughts...not that they mean anything or are correct

If I went to that church, I would have an issue with it...just like that guy that has 3 jets...in all my study of the Bible, I don't think getting rich is the end game of salvation and a relationship with the Lord....I think prosperity preachers miss the mark, and my pastor does not preach prosperity, but service..We are instructed to serve others in our walk...How many people could that pastor have helped with what it cost to pay for that car? yeah-it's his money and his church approves...not my business, but it is also not the Lord's intended method of service(at least in my humble opinion)....

Some can say the Lord blessed him with the money to buy the car...who knows? I would have spent that money differently, but his walk is his walk...
