Christian bigot Kim Davis gets thrown under the bus.

A judge ruled in 2017 that the state of Kentucky should pay the $225,000 legal fees.

Gov. Bevin, one of her biggest supporters, saying dumb shit like she is an inspiration to children and he supports her all the way is now saying nope. She acted on her own and should pay the quarter million out of her own pocket.

I almost feel bad for how the Christian right used and exploited her for their own gain, I don't, but I almost do.
It's no surprise now that none of her biggest supporters and enablers won't step up and help her pay for the shit. They encouraged and backed her up, until she had to pay-up.

Sure, she can start a gofundme and idiots will donate and she probably would even end up profiting, but I don't care, go for it.
It's just how fast everyone distances themselves from her now that's she's on the hook for 250 Grand.

3 marriages yapping about the sanctity of marriage. Lmao.. silly bigot.

Not even close for me. She's a stupid bigoted adult and went willingly.

5. Yes. I shouldn't have used such a broad brush there.

Not every right-wing Christian supported her.
All her supporters were right wing Christians though and they used her.
Like the left used Cindy Sheehan and many others will be used as props in this stupid political game.

I guess she's not useful to the left anymore.

Even after the Supreme Court weighed in.

Has there been evidence of her treating gay folks with hatred and intolerance?

13. Perhaps not, but it does constitute a legal liability

And set up a situation where due to intransigence she was unable to fulfill the duties she was sworn to.

Yes, she has a 1st Amendment Right to her beliefs, but in her professional capacity her allegiance is to the Constitution, not her conscience. In this case it leaves the state on the hook for her denial of Constitutional Rights as she was acting as an agent of and under the auspices of the State of Kentucky.

14. We could debate the Constitutional right to freedom of religon all day long

and whether it should be infringed upon for emotional satisfaction or not.

But, since the intent of the OP is to mock and disparage Christians, I was just asking for proof of the claims made.

15. Despite my lack of faith, I am not the disparaging type. To each his own.

All that I was attempting to convey is that the USSC is the final arbiter of what is Constitutional and what is not and that in this case they did not allow for much wiggle room. Based on that I was just trying to qualify as to why there was a liability and how it came about.

17. Nope. I just said she's a Christian bigot.

If it wasn't her religion that drove her bigotry I would have removed the Christian part and posted it in culture.
Nowhere did I accuse all Christians of being bigots or said anything about Christianity in general.
This is about her.

19. Well. She refused to give marriage licenses to gay couples.

Then she forbid her deputies to give licenses to gay couples after she was pulled from the duty.
Then she went to Romania to fight gay marriage over there.
There is a lot more if you take the time to look it up.
If you think using a line from an old book and using it to discriminate against people isn't bigotry, well, that's up to you. I'm not here to convince you either way. You can defend her or remain indifferent. Your call.

and your attempt to link non-support of gay marriage to hatred of the individual, is as dishonest as screaming racist at those who support limited government and low taxation.

21. You don't have to hate someone to be a bigot.

You are the one claiming I said she hates gays.
Maybe she does, maybe she doesn't.
Intolerance is enough to qualify for bigotry.
I'd say refusing to obey the law and give marriage licenses to gays is intolerance based on one's own opinion and beliefs.
Even going to another country, where she would not be effected at all by their laws, to fight it is also a grand show of intolerance towards gays, based off of her opinion and belief.
I consider that bigotry, because it is.
You are free to disagree.

22. Bigot - one who regards or treats the members of a group with hatred and intolerance

That is the definition of bigotry that you are trying to convey, all in order to belittle, demean and condemn religion and the folks who believe.

But, let's pretend that your whole diatribe really is about her not accepting the views, beliefs, or behavior that differ from her own.
Why is it ok to create laws out of thin air that infringe upon the views, beliefs or behaviors of one group in order to please another? Why must we use dishonest exaggerations to justify that?
Because the goal isn't really about live and let live acceptance, it's about silencing any dissent in order to condition endorsement and embracement.

23. Sorry you took it personally.

This was about Kim the bigot Davis.
She is clearly a bigot.
Her religious beliefs allow her to be a bigot.
Not everyone that believes in Jesus is a bigot.
I've already said that yet you seem to think I think that.
I don't.
Some people actually listen to what Jesus said about how to treat people.
Not bigots like Kim Davis.
She doesn't like gays and uses her religion as a reason for it. Making you all look bad in the process.
Then she got used and tossed aside when she lost.

Again. This is about her. Not all Christians.

24. I don't take things personally on an internet message board

Your post history undermines your claim that this attack is about an individual and not religion in general.

You haven't provided any proof that she "doesn't like gays", only that she simply disagree's with gay marriage.

Being an atheist, I'm not sure how her religious convictions 'make me look bad.' I support our Constitutional right to freedom of religion and I disagree with using dishonest exaggerations to justify infringing upon it.

It would be an excercise in futility to try.

I've already explained that I don't consider all Christians to be bigots. So I guess we'll leave it at that.

26. That's too bad

I actually enjoy these religious discussions when you are in a rational mood and ask why you believe that you can make such a distinction, but she cannot? Especially after your posts where you disagree, dismiss and mock those who call you a bigot.

Anyway, thanks. Have a good one.

27. I just don't feel like being told I'm attacking all Christians

When I've stated multiple times I have not.
I even admitted a kind of broadbrushed in an earlier reply here and that wasn't my intention.

You accuse me of ulterior motives with my post and won't accept my explanation after it being offered 2 or 3 times, you keep going back to it, so it's pointless.

28. Ah, so I am being unfair and hardheaded in my criticisms of your position

I do not know your intentions, but I am judging and attacking you for what I believe them to be. I am assuming the worst in you, even though you have stated many times that was not the case.

I agree and respect that, and until proven otherwise, others deserve the same consideration.

Davis has stated multiple times that this isn't about hate or intolerance of gay individuals
She has said that:
"it's not hate that motivates her."
"For me, this has never been a gay or a lesbian issue.
"I have gay friends that I love dearly."
"This has been about standing up for the Word of God."

29. Well, Kim needs to show me where God said

To do what she did. Other than that, it's her own opinion on what God said.
Jesus said to treat everyone as you would treat him, he didn't make exceptions for gays.

"I have gay friends" doesn't cut it.
