God likes punishment.

He loves to punish us.
He punishes us on earth and he'll punish you for eternity as well.
Do you really think there will not be punishment in heaven for you?
God just loves it so I can guarantee you the rules up there will be a lot worse and the punishments far more severe when you are stuck up there until the end of time. No death to relieve you of your eternal suffering at the hands of God. He's got you now, forever.

He even punishes people who don't believe in him. Instead of just letting them die and not exist, he has to punish them in hell as well. Nobody gets away from god. Nobody. No matter what you do, he's gonna get you and punish you. Forever.

3. Biblical descriptions of heaven are not particularly appealing -- life under an Oriental despot!

4. This is why you cannot trust an atheist when they claim they know the Bible.

I have always found the typical atheist to be rather ignorant of the Bible. They always claim otherwise.
But with that said,

Hell is an eternal fate...for the atheist. It was made for satan and the angels who revolted with him, but it is big enough for those who choose to go there as well.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
This means the escape from Hell is through Christ. Through Him there is forgiveness. I fear not punishment as I am forgiven. The atheist has no such hope, but my sins were washed away by the blood of Christ - He took the punishment that I deserved.

Unlike what the OP claims, forgiveness is freely offered to all who come through Christ. Of course that Gift is rejected by atheists...so they knowingly chose their fate. And yet they complain about it.

~~It makes one wonder. Why whine about something you don't believe? I wonder if our atheists are really non believers or just rebellious true believers.

and not to disappoint: the OP was not made with actual discussion in mind, but rather out of bigotry. Punishment is exactly what an atheist chooses to endure. Anthony Hopkins was an atheist who converted, he freely chose to not endure punishment. As long as you may live the ability to change your fate is still out there

10. Heaven is an eternal fate too.

You seem to think it will be all lollipops, but you don't know what it will be like to live for the next trillion years. With no escape, no death to set you free, only another trillion years in heaven, and another and another and another.

13. I willingly go there. You my friend, can learn to burn.

Again you speak from ignorance. You will stand before God and agree that his judgement of you is fair.
Heaven is not a place in the clouds. I will receive a new body, and my mind will adapt to handle eternity. We were made for fellowship with God, not slavery.

How can you claim to debate the Bible but be so ignorant of its basic tenets?
Heaven and hell are 101 class level stuff.

5. Oh now, son, don't be ridiculous.

God doesn't punish anybody.

God gave man free will, which man uses to determine his conduct and behavior.

If man's conduct and behavior leads to undesirable consequences, it's man's own fault.

At the risk of sounding sacrilegious, God is very much like grandpa sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch, watching as his multiple grandchildren romp and play and interact with each other down in the front yard, themselves dealing with the consequences of such behavior or misbehavior.

12. Yeah, that's the best we have come up with to allow god to wash his hands of it all.

He created it.
He determined the criteria for how someone may end up there.
But it's the inferior humans that choose, through "free will", to send themselves there.
There is no choice. You can't die and say, well, I choose not to go to hell or heaven.
He already knows where you are going, there is no choice.

6. Hey Satan, how goes it?

It seems the "cruel messenger," verse would apply here.

In other words, sinners may not have to wait until death to be punished. God promises, in that verse, to send a "cruel messenger," to those who would defile God's laws.

Hope you have a nice rest of the weekend.
