New Record: Obama Mentions Himself 392 Times During Berlin Townhall

President Obama was in Germany on Saturday, ostensibly to speak about “community leadership and civic engagement” on behalf of his eponymous Obama Foundation, but Berliners soon discovered his main topic of interest was ... Barack Obama.

Obama talking about himself in an almost obsessive manner is no new phenomenon, but today he shattered his own records. Over the course of a 90 minute townhall with "emerging leaders," Obama mentioned himself an eye-popping 392 times.

Here's the breakdown of his personal pronoun use (based on a rush transcript of the event):
"I" — 274
"Me" — 25
"My" — 31
"I’d" — 9
"I’m" — 41
"Myself" — 7
“Obama” — 5

The former president's comments began on his favorite topic: himself.....

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Just a reminder: ".....talking about himself in an almost obsessive manner is no new phenomenon....."

How do you like them bananas?

7. I will admit my response was slightly off, given that you were talking about know-it-alls and I was

talking about narcissists, but basically we were both talking about people who think rather too much of themselves, so my answer wasn't that far out of line; a little bit, but not much.

10. Actually

using "I" is fairly common. People do it all the time.

But now tRump has gone over the line into referring to himself in the third person.

And, as the other person said....I can't recall any politician claiming to know more than anyone about anything.

12. And Yet

"I know more about renewables than any human being on Earth."

And yet you stated that the NOISE from wind turbines causes cancer.
"“They say the noise causes cancer”

"I’m the king of debt. I’m great with debt. Nobody knows debt better than me."
"I understand money better than anybody."
And yet your companies filed for bankruptcy on 6 occasions resulting in you relinquishing controlling interest in at least 4 properties and being forced to sell your yacht and an airline.

1) Trump opened the $1.2 billion Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City in April 1990. One year later, in the summer of 1991, it sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection because it was unable to generate enough gambling revenue to cover the massive costs of building the facility, particularly amid a recession.
Trump was forced to relinquish half of his ownership in the casino and sell off his yacht and his airline.

2) The Trump Organization relinquished half of its holdings in the Castle to the bondholders.

3) The Plaza Casino was one of two Trump casinos in Atlantic City to enter bankruptcy in March 1992.
Trump Plaza closed in September 2014, putting more than 1,000 people out of work.

4) Trump's Plaza Hotel was more than $550 million in debt when it entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 1992. Trump gave up a 49 percent stake in the company to lenders, as well as his salary and his day-to-day role in its operations.

5) Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts, a holding company for Trump's three casinos, entered Chapter 11 in November 2004 as part of a deal with bondholders to restructure $1.8 billion of debt.
Trump relinquished the majority control to bondholders

6) Trump Entertainment Resorts, the casino holding company, entered Chapter 11 in February 2009
The holding company emerged from bankruptcy in February 2016 and became a subsidiary of investor Carl Icahn's Icahn Enterprises
