Sons Of Anarchy.

Last edited Thu Mar 16, 2017, 06:14 PM - Edit history (1)

It was here on Discussionist I read Sons Of Anarchy was a great TV series.

So I finished all the movies and TV I had on my list. Figured I'd watch something different while waiting for the new seasons.

Watched the first episode of Sons Of Anarchy. Well, most of it. Stopped watching after forty minutes. I mean ... Katy Sagal as the den mother of a biker gang?? Please! Katy Sagal is Peg Bundy.

While my experience with bikers is limited, I don't believe real bikers are that wimpy. One guy is worried his wife will get angry if he goes on a biker job. Naturally, another gang member says, "Don't worry. Stay home. It's cool." Yeah, right.

So tonight I'm looking for a new show to watch. Never heard of The Travelers but one web site said it was best series currently on NetFlix.

We'll see.

1. Sons in anarchy lost me too

Travelers was pretty good sci fi. It has some hokeyness. But it's an interesting time travel premise. Travelers from the future are sent to prevent a catastrophe, but as they change the future they also set in motion serious unintended repercussions. I plan to watch the next season

That said best on Netflix is too high a review. Luke Cage and Jessica Jones are exponentially better TV. Better production, writing, character development etc.

4. Luke Cage is da man!

https://m.

Hokey is a good word to describe Travelers. That said, I'll watch season 2. I dig the premise.

2. I've binge watched Breaking Bad twice. It's that good!

House of Cards is a must binge, Bloodline will suck you into a binge quick.
Brian Cranston of Breaking Bad is the main character in The Infiltrator, that's great also.

You'll love watching House of Cards, it's so true to democrat's lust for power, control, deceit, murder and just plain backstabbing ruthlessness. You'll identify true to life politicians of the various characters portrayed that are dead ringers. The seething, seamy underside of DC wasn't left out.

Titus was the man!

I could've watched that show for many more seasons.

9. Yeah Us Too!

We were so disappointed when they canceled it

We went on to Spartacus but it wasn't as good after the 1st Actor died and they replaced him. Even though you did get to see Lucy Lawless naked occasionally and there was a lot of Beefcake Gladiators that Susan Liked

8. Try Emerald city

Different, but it pulls ya in.

AS Gunslinger said, Rome is a good choice too.

10. Initially I kinda

felt the same way about it, that sorta show isn't really inline with what interests me.
That being said, if you stick with it, the story does turn into a nail-biter and it hangs pretty well. Yea, there were a few dud episodes for sure, but most of it, right up to the end, was pretty enthralling.
Some of the more acclaimed series are definitely all they were touted to be... Breaking bad, Band of Brothers, The Pacific...
I try to avoid that crap if I can though, it will get me hooked again and I don't have all that much time for TV these days.
