The Non-Political Thanksgiving thread. Happy Thanksgiving, Folks! Hows it going?

I'm going to try to stay out of politics for the day, but that doesn't mean going dark or being anti-social.

It is 63 degrees and sunny where I'm at. The smell of Turkey cooking is making its way through the house, and certain little paws are doing the happy stamp:

Yes, they really do that...What pure torture it must be to have noses so sensitive when a turkey is cooking.

How is everyone elses Thanksgiving going? Good I hope.

1. Same to you!

Years ago, our beloved Bombay cat would sit in front of and stare at the oven the entire time the bird was cooking!

2. decent weather here, out in the Sandhills of Nebraska,

but I guess not so much in other parts of the country. Sixty-one degrees right now, mostly clear skies.

I was hoping to have an appetite today--it's variable and unpredictable, wildly swinging almost every day--but the only chow I was "up" to having was a container of peach yogurt and a bowl of vanilla ice cream with skim milk topped over it. I'll live; there's more to life than just fine dining. .

3. My MILs dog does the stampy feet.

She adds grunts and grumbles if not given what she wants. It’s adorable.

It was/is arctic cold here. 11 degrees feels like -6. Coldest Thanksgiving in 100 years I hear. This is January weather.

On a lighter note, I had asparagus wrapped in prosciutto with melted smoked Gouda at dinner today. It was only the second time I’ve had prosciutto. The first time was last Saturday. Better than bacon IMHO. Second only to pork belly (fat bacon).
