1. You know, as an adult I've known discouragement and defeat more than

any Democrat or primitive my own approximate age.

The first time was the defeat of Gerald Ford by Jimmy Carter in 1976.

Then there was the defeat of the first George Bush by William Clinton in 1992--perhaps the least-deserved defeat of an incumbent president in American history.

Robert Dole by William Clinton in 1996; along with Alexander Hamilton and Robert E. Lee, Dole was perhaps the American best suited to be president but never was.

John McCain by Barack Obama in 2008.

Mitt Romney, despite his being the better of the two men, by Barack Obama in 2012.

All were very discouraging and frustrating.

These disastrous defeats all happened on a Tuesday.

By the following Thursday, I serenely accepted, adapted, and moved on.

I remind the Trump haters that they will never know happiness and fulfillment until they stop hating.
