6. Bottom line is

If you get "sleeves" and crap on your neck and hands you have made a conscious decision to seriously limit your career choices. No professional firm is going to hire you in a client facing position. No one is going to send you into negotiating a multi-million dollar project if you look like you're on work release from the half way house after doing 5 to 15 hard and just rode in with the Pagans.

8. Except that thought is trending downward.

Tattoos are commonplace in any blue collar job, right now. And certainly won’t disqualify anyone. From roofers to cops.

A large trend is half or three quarter sleeves that can be discretely hidden under a dress shirt.

No, that way of thinking is out the door. Even successful people are getting more and more tattoos. Hit the gym on any day and see a wide variety of ink on all types of folks.

10. I own an executive recruiting firm

Not a single one of my clients would touch a heavily inked candidate with a ten foot pole. Their clients would bolt.

12. Ok.

I doubt you're getting a lot of heavily inked people applying for executive positions as they take time and money. The kind

"If you get "sleeves" and crap on your neck and hands you have made a conscious decision to seriously limit your career choices"

This is 100% false unless you think everyone's choices should include your clients. Also, you can make a living working blue collar, where nobody cares about tattoos. Jobs that pay very well and are every bit as respectable.

I'm not trying to change your mind on tattoos...idgaf. I'm telling you, it's the new norm. And the next CEO of one of your clients may not have any ink. But his brother or sister will. Eventually, nobody will care.
