Stop the words of hate, rabbi urges leaders

Rabbi Jeffrey Myers, who described himself as a victim, survivor and mourner, drew a standing ovation as he told the crowd: “I want to address for a moment some of our political leaders who were here. Ladies and gentlemen it has to start with you as our leaders … Stop the words of hate … If it comes from you, Americans will listen.”

Trump supporter charged with sending 13 improvised explosive devices to appear in federal court

Cesar Sayoc, a fanatical Trump supporter with a lengthy list of convictions including a previous bomb threat, faces up to 48 years in prison on five charges relating to the mailing of 13 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to the various targets, among them Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, the last two Democrats to occupy the White House.

These are not hoax devices,” said the FBI director, Christopher Wray.

Sayoc will remain at a federal detention centre in Miami until Monday’s court hearing, after which he will face extradition to New York.

Sales of New Houses Plunge, Pile of Unsold Homes Highest since January 2009

Sales of new single-family houses in September plunged 18% from September a year ago, not-seasonally adjusted, to just 41,000 new single-family houses, according to estimates that the Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development jointly reported this morning.

In terms of the seasonally adjusted annual rate of sales, which projects what sales for an entire 12-month period would be based on the sales in September: It plunged 13% from September last year to an annual rate of 553,000 houses.

So, is it time to cut prices to move the unsold inventory languishing on the market? You bet.

In September the median sale price dropped, very embarrassingly, 3.5% from September last year, to $320,000. The median price is now down 6.8% from the glory days at the peak last November
