Ask me about policies advocated by Democratic candidates.

I'm initiating this thread as a vehicle for our leftist friends to ask me about policy issues being championed by any of the current Democratic Party presidential candidates.

I promise to give you my honest opinion, the reasons why, with no snark or flippant responses.

You pick the subject. Green new deal. Medicare for all. Slavery reparations. Electoral college. Foreign policy. Whatever you want.

Ask away. Perhaps you'll change my mind. The ball is in your court.

A chance for an actual discussion at the Discussionist.

Democrat legislator calmly and rationally discusses gun policy.

Question for liberals.

Are we still in a crisis due to the end of net neutrality? Wasn't the world going to end or something if Trump repealed net neutrality?

Communist youth strike for climate change.

Notice that saving the planet is soooooo important to them that they take a day off school. But, they can't be bothered to take off a Saturday or holiday. Brains full of mush wanting free stuff. This is a case where an old adage applies, "Children should be seen and not heard."

Meet the brainwashed children trying to tell us something:
See the children's demands:
Adults won’t take climate change seriously. So we, the youth, are forced to strike.

We, the youth of America, are fed up with decades of inaction on climate change. On Friday, March 15, young people like us across the United States will strike from school. We strike to bring attention to the millions of our generation who will most suffer the consequences of increased global temperatures, rising seas, and extreme weather. But this isn’t a message only to America. It’s a message from the world, to the world, as students in dozens of countries on every continent will be striking together for the first time.

We strike to support the Green New Deal. Outrage has swept across the United States over the proposed legislation. Some balk at the cost of transitioning the country to renewable energy, while others recognize its far greater benefit to society as a whole. The Green New Deal is an investment in our future—and the future of generations beyond us—that will provide jobs, critical new infrastructure and most importantly, the drastic reduction in greenhouse gas emissions essential to limit global warming. And that is why we strike.

Global Warming Hoax Pushed by Corrupt Scientists Hooked on Government Grants
Greenpeace co-founder and former president of Greenpeace Canada Patrick Moore described the cynical and corrupt machinations fueling the narrative of anthropocentric global warming and “climate change” in a Wednesday interview on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight with hosts Rebecca Mansour and Joel Pollak.

Moore explained how fear and guilt are leveraged by proponents of climate change: "Fear has been used all through history to gain control of people’s minds and wallets and all else, and the climate catastrophe is strictly a fear campaign — well, fear and guilt — you’re afraid you’re killing your children because you’re driving them in your SUV and emitting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and you feel guilty for doing that. There’s no stronger motivation than those two. Scientists are co-opted and corrupted by politicians and bureaucracies invested in advancing the narrative of “climate change” in order to further centralize political power and control."

And so you’ve got the green movement creating stories that instill fear in the public. You’ve got the media echo chamber — fake news — repeating it over and over and over again to everybody that they’re killing their children, and then you’ve got the green politicians who are buying scientists with government money to produce fear for them in the form of scientific-looking materials, and then you’ve got the green businesses, the rent-seekers and the crony capitalists who are taking advantage of massive subsidies, huge tax write-offs, and government mandates requiring their technologies to make a fortune on this, and then of course you’ve got the scientists who are willingly, they’re basically hooked on government grants.

When they talk about the 99 percent consensus on climate change, that’s a completely ridiculous and false numbers, but most of the scientists — put it in quotes, scientists — who are pushing this catastrophic theory are getting paid by public money. They are not being paid by General Electric or Dupont or 3M to do this research, where private companies expect to get something useful from their research that might produce a better product and make them a profit in the end because people want it — build a better mousetrap type of idea — but most of what these so-called scientists are doing is simply producing more fear so that politicians can use it control people’s mind and get their votes because some of the people are convinced, ‘Oh, this politician can save my kid from certain doom.’

Trump is kidnapping and raping babies and seems proud of it. He's a Proud Boy all right.

What percentage of DU posters are completely fucking clinically insane?

Failed liberal predictions.

What are your favorite failed liberal predictions and movements? I'll start with one of mine. Occupy Wall St. It changed NOTHING.

Unstable DUmmies reveal their mental illness.
Remember the knots in your gut, the daily morning dread
of turning on the news, the tooth gritting rage, the acid stomach, the rising bile, the profound depression, the despair of hope dashed again and again?

"Election" night 2016 was one of the worst nights of my life.

I grind my teeth due to him. Can I sue for harrassment or emotional/mental abuse? He is causing harm to my mind and body. Until he is locked in a cell for life I will not feel my country is in safe hands.

Cow fart Barbie is going to prison?

ep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and a top aide appear to control an outside PAC credited with being the central force behind her June 2018 primary victory.
One former Federal Election Commission member thinks there would be a “serious investigation” if a complaint were filed, noting that the probe could potentially result in civil penalties or even jail time for Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff.
A second former commissioner said there were possibly “multiple violations of federal campaign finance law.”
Justice Democrats ran campaigns for Ocasio-Cortez and 11 other Democrats, but the New York Democrat was the only one to win her general election.

Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti obtained majority control of Justice Democrats PAC in December 2017, according to archived copies of the group’s website, and the two appear to retain their control of the group, according to corporate filings obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation. If the Federal Election Commission (FEC) finds that the New York Democrat’s campaign operated in affiliation with the PAC, which had raised more than $1.8 million before her June 2018 primary, it would open them up to “massive reporting violations, probably at least some illegal contribution violations exceeding the lawful limits,” former FEC commissioner Brad Smith said.

Largest California County Bans Mega Solar Farms

Quick. The dem party needs to seen Occaisional-Cortex to San Bernadino County to set those people straight. After all, we have less than 12 years before the end of the world.
If climate change is the dire threat the Left portrays it to be, then the largest county in ultra-left-wing California is definitely not setting the example: Officials from San Bernardino County just killed the construction of a mega solar farm, the Los Angeles Times reports.

"California's largest county has banned the construction of large solar and wind farms on more than 1 million acres of private land, bending to the will of residents who say they don’t want renewable energy projects industrializing their rural desert communities northeast of Los Angeles," the outlet reports.

The ban passed the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors 4-1, putting up a serious barrier for state lawmakers, who passed a law requiring utility companies to produce 60% of their electricity from renewable energy sources by 2030 and 100% from "climate-friendly" sources by 2045. Those measures cannot be enacted without the cooperation of local governments, the populations of which rarely support big solar and wind farms ruining their communities.
