World's Largest Bee Is Spotted For First Time In Decades
The Wallace's giant bee — Megachile pluto — towers over European honeybees. The female's size has been recorded as at least an inch and a half long, with a tongue that's nearly an inch long. Add to that a pair of gigantic mandibles, and it's a bee like no other.

"It was absolutely breathtaking to see this 'flying bulldog' of an insect that we weren't sure existed anymore — to have real proof right there in front of us in the wild," said natural history photographer Clay Bolt, who was part of a small team that sought out the Wallace's giant bee. The team found a female bee living in a termite nest on the side of a tree — the large bee's preferred habitat. Female Wallace's giant bees use resin and wood to create tunnels and cells in existing nests, carving out their own living space away from the termites.

It's not unusual for the Wallace's giant bee to go long periods without being seen by humans. It has been observed only a handful of times since it was discovered in the 1850s by British naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace. When the bee was last rediscovered, in 1981, it had been presumed extinct.

Satellite data: No real increase in global warming for the last 23 years

Now, a new study by climate scientists John Christy and Richard McNider of the University of Alabama-Huntsville, is sure to lead to even more heated discussions at dinner tables around the country.

The study, which was funded by the Department of Energy, found that if you remove the unusual heating and cooling effects caused by two major volcanoes – El Chichon in 1982 and Pinatubo in 1991 – from the satellite temperature record, it becomes clear that there has been virtually no change in the rate of warming in the past 23 years. Christy explained that the volcanoes initially resulted in lower temperatures when soot, ash and debris in the atmosphere reflected sunlight back into space. This initial cooling was followed by higher temperatures in the years immediately following the eruptions. Christy believes that this caused what looked like a trend of warming caused by man-made emissions that was actually strictly caused by the volcanoes.

Christy and McNider found the rate of warming has been 0.096 degrees Celsius per decade after “the removal of volcanic cooling in the early part of the record,” which “is essentially the same value we determined in 1994 … using only 15 years of data.”

Like many other climate scientists, Christy has argued for years that climate models are incorrect and exaggerate the levels of global warming in the bulk atmospheres. These levels have been monitored by satellites since the latter part of the 1970s. “We indicated 23 years ago — in our 1994 Nature article — that climate models had the atmosphere’s sensitivity to CO2 much too high,” Christy noted in a statement. “This recent paper bolsters that conclusion.” Christy has been insisting for years that climate models predict too much warming in the lowest five miles of the atmosphere – known as the troposphere – and that they are too sensitive to increased carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere.

Miami Is Sinking, But That Doesnt Mean Sea Levels Are Rising

Sea level expert Geologist Dr. Nils-Axel Mörner ridiculed the claim in Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth that Florida would be half covered by rising seas. “These are models. They are doing it wrongly, and this is lobbying. Geologic facts are on one side, lobbying and models are on the other side.” Morner added, “The rapid rise in sea levels predicted by computer models simply cannot happen.” ...

Geologist Dr. Don Easterbrook: “If you look at the total global sea level from about 1850 until the present time it’s been rising at a fairly constant rate, rather slow—about 7 inches a century.... It’s about 1 to 2 mm a year so if you’re 50 years old you experienced a sea level rise about 3 ½ inches and you probably didn’t even notice it,”

Former NASA Climatologist Dr. Roy Spencer: “Sea level rise, which was occurring long before humans could be blamed, has not accelerated and still amounts to only 1 inch every 10 years." ... Spencer on Miami flooding: “That flooding is mostly a combination of (1) natural sea level rise (I show there has been no acceleration of sea level rise beyond what was already happening since the 1800s), and (2) satellite-measured sinking of the reclaimed swamps that have been built upon for over 100 years in Miami Beach.”

U. Penn Geologist Dr. Robert Giegengack explains, “At the present rate of sea-level rise it’s going to take 3,500 years to get up there . So if for some reason this warming process that melts ice is cutting loose and accelerating, sea level doesn’t know it. And sea level, we think, is the best indicator of global warming.” The man-made climate-induced sea level rise scare is back in the news today as a Miami beach developer has correctly dismissed sea level rise scares as “paranoia.” The feared sea level rise in Miami and Florida has failed to materialize. The latest studies and data has scientists speaking out about the unscientific claims of man-made climate change induced sea level rise.
Sea level rise in the Miami area is not accelerating and it is rising at a rate of about 1 foot per century.

“Gore has previously said there has been a three-inch sea level rise since 1992 when Hurricane Andrew struck Florida. But tidal gauges and satellite altimeters show only a sea level rise of 1.2 mm per year. That would be about 28 mm since 1992, or 1.1 inches. He was off nearly 300 percent. Gore also brought up the unique phenomenon in Miami that allow “fish from the ocean to swim on the streets of Miami-Dade and Delray, Ft. Lauderdale.” But that assertion has no basis in fact, wrote the Miami Herald when President Obama made the same claim.”

All of the sea level rise since 1700 is insignificant relative to the natural variability of Holocene sea levels.

Climate Change Isn’t Just Frying the Planet—It’s Fraying Our Nerves
“We kind of lose our cool.”

Over the last year, Rebecca, a 35-year-old woman living in Washington, DC, had been losing sleep over the seemingly endless flow of apocalyptic environmental news. She fretted about the Trump administration’s loosening of emissions regulations and the United Nations’ dire predictions about climate change. In October, she sought help from a psychiatrist who put her on an antidepressant. “It sort of saps your emotional reserves,” she says, “this constant background feeling of anxiety.”

Meanwhile, patients like Rebecca now have a name for their climate-triggered mental anguish. Last April, Memorial University’s Cunsolo and a colleague coined the term “ecological grief”: the profound sadness that people feel as a response to loss of animal species, ecosystems, and landscapes.

Occasionally-Crazy's vision of the renewable future as implemented
Wind Turbine Syndrome : Residents living near wind turbines suffer symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, and sleep disturbance since 1985

For ten years no one has answered why the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has not upgraded noise regulations for commercial wind turbines.
Looking back on commercial wind turbine projects today it's reasonable to assume the reason the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has dragged its feet on new noise regulations is because they financed the horrendous wind turbine noise and shadow flicker problems taking health and property rights. ( regulatory capture )
The answer is simply follow the money and a commercial wind turbine agenda gone horribly wrong.
Falmouth, Massachusetts is ground zero for poorly placed wind turbines in the United States followed by twenty one other local communities due in part to the MassDEP and its use of federal funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The Global Warming Solutions Act requires that Massachusetts cut its greenhouse gas emissions 25 percent below 1990 levels by 2020 and 80 percent by 2050.To achieve the renewable energy goal the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection helped finance wind turbines to have the state reach a renewable energy goal of 2000 megawatts of wind turbine renewable energy by the year 2020. The Falmouth wind turbine project at the Town’s waste water treatment facility (“Wind II”) was funded with moneys provided through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (“ARRA”). The former DEP Commissioner at that time Ken Kimmell indicated finances through MassDEP and the Massachusetts Water Pollution Abatement Trust.

Falmouth Turbines Strategy of Health - Financial Lies By Omission
Common Denominator: Falmouth Select Board Members Since 2009 Refuse To Show 110 Decibel Chest Pounding Warning Letter To Public

The MassCEC could not sell the Vestas 110 decibel wind turbine so they took another one million in renewable tax money and gave it advance to the Town of Falmouth as an incentive to buy the turbine later to be named Falmouth Wind I. Again your tax money. In 2009 the federal government gave the state of Massachusetts millions and millions of dollars known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). This money is federal money your tax dollars. The money was given as grants to stimulate the economy to the Massachusetts State Revolving Fund (SRF)

The Massachusetts State Revolving Fund (SRF) through a deal brokered by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection called a Project Regulatory Agreement lent the Town of Falmouth the stimulus funds which the Town of Falmouth is paying back. Taxpayers are paying for Falmouth Wind II twice. The turbine was purchased with federal grant money (your money) and the Town of Falmouth is paying twice.

Hiding this letter created eight years of unnecessary litigation costing taxpayers up to $260,000.00 every six months.

Barnstable Superior Court Judge Cornelius Moriarty issued the order to shut down Falmouth's Wind 1 and Wind 2 on June 20, 2017, as they are a nuisance.

Wealth tax failures

(i.e., the future of the democratic party)
Wealth Tax Fails The Test Around The World

Wealth Tax: There's little doubt that the political flavor of the day is what the left calls "democratic socialism." And one of this movement's more recent ideas, from Sen. Elizabeth Warren, is to impose a "wealth tax" on the wealthy. Sorry, senator, it's an old idea — one that's thoroughly discredited.

To begin with, the wealth tax is nothing new. It's been tried by many nations, but most who've tried it have dropped it. As recently as 1990, according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, 12 of its member countries imposed a wealth tax on citizens. Today, it's just four.

The irony is that those who ended their failed experiments with the wealth tax are those that America's "democratic socialists" say they most admire. That includes Denmark and Sweden, nations often cited by people like Warren, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as worthy of emulation by the American left.

Why did those countries drop wealth taxes? As The Tax Foundation noted, "Countries have dropped the taxes due to the challenges they pose." Among others, those challenges include wealthy people fleeing the country to avoid taxes, and declines in investment and jobs.
