About Me

Advocate for all people who are falsely accused of crimes.

Journal Archives

As of this morning, my profile says my chance of serving on juries is now "100%." But I've served...

...on juries nearly every day since I joined the forums even at times when I had more than one post hidden in the past 90 days.

Will I notice anything different?

Candidate for California's 50th Congressional district wore unearned SEAL Trident

Longshot congressional hopeful James Kimber apologetic for "horribly stupid' thing to do"

EAST COUNTY — Congressional candidate James Kimber wore a U.S. Navy SEAL Trident for more than a year despite never completing training for the elite force to earn the prestigious designation.

Kimber said Tuesday he is truly remorseful for the episode that stained his military career but did not end it.

“It was more than 20 years ago and it was a horribly embarrassing and stupid thing to do,” he told U-T San Diego, which has pictures of Kimber wearing the Trident. “Fortunately, I was able to finish my Navy career.”

Kimber, a Democrat, is running against three-term incumbent Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Alpine, in the predominantly Republican 50th Congressional District representing much of East County, Escondido and Temecula in southern Riverside County....

Unearned SEAL insignia, Democrat in the 50th, running against an incumbent. That's three strikes against Mr. Kimber. Frankly with his background, he doesn't stand a chance of getting elected to any post in Southern California irrespective of his otherwise impressive military career and all of his apologies. It's a deal-breaker around here, and there are some bars where he'd be at risk of getting a beating. Maybe he should relocate to another part of the state where the military doesn't have as much clout.

In its 2013 session, the General Assembly repealed a 1935 law that had required Durham residents to register their firearms with the Durham County Clerk of Court. The State of North Carolina granted Archie Smith, Clerk of Court, permission to destroy the records. Sheriff Andrews was on hand this morning to observe and assist with the destruction.

Georgia Legalizes Handgun Vending Machines

Georgia Legalizes Handgun Vending Machines
Aug 27, 2014

Georgia has become the first state in the union to legalize handgun vending machines.

In a ceremony today in Atlanta, Gov. Nathan Deal signed the Firearms Freedom and Accessibility Act (FFAA), which allows the sale of handguns in automated machines that accept cash, credit and debit cards.

The machines will be installed in grocery stores, convenience stores, bars, schools, airports and gas stations. They aren’t required to verify buyers’ identity and won’t perform background checks.

“Millions of people in Georgia lack access to quality firearms,” the governor said in a signing statement. “This bill will finally bring handguns from top manufacturers into every neighborhood and hopefully every household....

UN Panel Warns To Stop the Emissions in the World By 2050

A recent report by the United Nations has stated that there will be negative changes in the climate if the emissions are not stopped. By 2050, the nature will not adjust with the condition of living beings, as the climate would act weird all the times. The consequences of these constant harmful emissions can’t even be imagined by the human mind.

The report is a collection of comments made by several climate study experts. These experts have stated that it is not only the industries and the government responsible for this change, but also the other human activities that need to be blamed for this increased level of global warming.

It can be believed that the Earth has been indicating red alert, right from the activity of little ice age that lasted during the period of 1300 – 1850. However, this alert has been neglected since several years, and it is confusing to understand whether this is due to the nature’s cycles, or the activities conducted by the human beings.

Rather than arguing and discussing about who is responsible for the harms caused to nature, UN strictly wants and urges government to take actions on cutting down big emissions by 2050....

We must stop emitting.
