Where is Melania?

While the First Lady has been active on Twitter, she hasn’t been seen in public for nearly three weeks now, which the Washington Post considers “an unusually long absence even for a first lady who relishes life outside the spotlight.” This past Friday, when Trump faced questions about Melania as he was leaving the Naval Academy’s graduation ceremony, he pointed to a White House window and said, “She’s doing great. She’s looking at us right there.”

According to a pool report, Melania was nowhere to be seen.

Mueller to Lock Up More Traitors!

Special counsel Robert Mueller's prosecutors indicated Tuesday that they're ready to move toward sentencing of another defendant who pleaded guilty in the ongoing probe of Russian influence in the 2016 presidential election.

Prosecutors asked a federal judge to order a pre-sentencing report for Richard Pinedo, a Santa Paula, California, man who admitted in February to a felony identity fraud charge relating to the sale of bank account numbers that apparently helped Russian internet trolls pay for social media ads related to the U.S. presidential race.

Story Continued Below

Mueller's team and Pinedo's attorneys have said he did not know who he was dealing with when he sold the bank account numbers. A statement of facts Pinedo accepted as part of his plea said that he knew many of his customers were abroad and that he “willfully and intentionally avoided learning” about the stolen identities.

The joint request for the probation-office report on Pinedo's background and his crime suggests that his case could move to sentencing in the next two or three months.

Prosecutors filed a similar request last week in the higher-profile case of George Papadopoulos, the Trump campaign foreign policy adviser who appears to have triggered the Trump-Russia probe in May 2016 by telling an Australian diplomat that Russia planned to release hacked emails relating to Hillary Clinton. Papadopoulos pleaded guilty to lying to FBI investigators about his interactions with advocates for Russia.

We May Be Heading for Another Major Financial Crisis,' George Soros Says

ging dollar and a capital flight from emerging markets may lead to another “major” financial crisis, investor George Soros said, warning the European Union that it’s facing an imminent existential threat.

The “termination” of the nuclear deal with Iran and the “destruction” of the transatlantic alliance between the EU and the U.S. are “bound to have a negative effect on the European economy and cause other dislocations,” including a devaluing of emerging-market currencies, Soros said in a speech in Paris on Tuesday. “We may be heading for another major financial crisis.”

The stark warning from the billionaire money manager comes as Italian bond yields have jumped to multi-year highs and major emerging economies including Turkey and Argentina are struggling to contain the fallout from runaway inflation. Soros, who has been the object of ire by the government of his native Hungary, saved his gloomiest outlook for the EU.

Weak EU = good for Putin.

Bad for U.S..

Lee Gelernt of the ACLU Immigrants' Rights Project said Tuesday that "Children are begging and screaming not to be separated from their parents, as they're hauled off to different cities. It's a harrowing situation, one that the president himself called horrible. No law even remotely requires the separation of children, and we filed a recent lawsuit arguing, in fact, that the Constitution prohibits this policy."

In an interview with NPR's Morning Edition host Steve Inskeep Tuesday, former President Barack Obama's domestic policy director, Cecilia Muñoz, stated unequivocally that separating children from their parents was not a policy the Obama administration followed.

"The Obama administration did not do that, no. We did not separate children from their parents," Muñoz said. "This is a new decision, a policy decision put in place by the attorney general," which Muñoz said "puts us in league with the most brutal regimes in the world's history."

Tell me all about "preserving the sanctity of the family unit", you fucking hypocrites.
