Lest we forget

I saw this today on my way home from work and it melted my heart so I had to share. I don't know the whole story but while at a stop light, I noticed a police officer pulled over on the side of the exit ramp in Georgetown and saw that he was talking to this gentleman. I saw a cardboard sign and a bag lying on the ground by his feet. As most people do, I sat at the light and watched what was going on. Both men appeared to be speaking calmly when I noticed the man on the left nod his head.
The officer then grabbed the man's hand in both of his hands and they both bowed their heads. They stood this way for about 30 seconds. I don't know what was said but they appeared to be praying. Afterward they spoke a few more words and the officer returned to his car. The man picked his sign up off the ground and the officer drove away. I never saw anything that I thought was an argument or altercation of any sort. It was just two men having mutual respect for one another. This has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with being a good human. Love your neighbor. Be kind to one another. Georgetown Police Department
**UPDATE: the officer in the photo is Brandon White! God bless you!**

Prosecutors of officers accused in Freddie Gray death face pressure for disbarment

Everyone involved in that goat rope should lose their Law License, Starting with Mosby!

Legal analysts ripped Baltimore prosecutors Monday over their handling of the Freddie Gray case, saying the prosecution should drop all charges against the three remaining police officers or risk more embarrassment in the courtroom.

What’s more, John Banzhaf, an activist law professor at George Washington University, said he would file a complaint Tuesday with the Maryland Attorney Grievance Commission calling for the disbarment of the lead prosecutors in the trials of the six police officers accused of wrongdoing in the 2015 arrest and death of the 25-year-old black man.

The pointed criticism came Monday after Lt. Brian Rice was acquitted of all charges for his role in Gray’s arrest and death. The lieutenant was the highest-ranking of the accused officers, and his full acquittal was the third consecutive loss for prosecutors. Another trial ended in a hung jury in December, and a retrial has been scheduled.

Taco Bell employee promptly fired for refusing to serve Cops

A Taco Bell employee in Phenix City, Ala. was fired after she reportedly refused to service two Sheriff's deputies and asked them to leave the establishment.

According to WTVM, two Lee County Sheriff's deputies entered the local Taco Bell on Saturday, dressed in their uniforms, and quickly became the object of irrational hatred.

A Facebook post by Tammy Bush Mayo, whose husband is a colleague of the two men who were denied service, described the scene.

“My husband is a Deputy Sheriff in Lee County, Alabama and tonight a Deputy on his shift went into Taco Bell in Phenix City, AL and was told that they don't serve cops. A lady waiting for her food spoke up to say that she was about to ask for a refund because she didn't want to eat somewhere with a cop,” she said.

White House does not criticize Turkey President for rounding up Political rivals

The White House refused to criticize the president of Turkey Monday for rounding up thousands of alleged political opponents after a failed coup.

“Obviously, they’re reacting to a rather extraordinary situation,” said White House press secretary Josh Earnest. “The democratically elected Turkish government has a responsibility to exercise restraint, and certainly to be supportive of due process and the freedoms that are outlined in the Turkish Constitution.”

Trump Leads Clinton by 11 Points with Independents

Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump is leading presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton by 11 points with Independents, 38 percent to 27 percent, according to a new Morning Consult poll.

But he’s still down by two points in a head-to-head match up, 41 percent to 39 percent.
Clinton’s lead increased one point since the last poll, which had Clinton at 42 percent and Trump at 41 percent.

I expect he'll get a bounce out of the Convention.
