Oh F*ck me!

In Chicago and elsewhere, Latinos converting to Islam

Standing shoulder to shoulder inside a community center in Morton Grove, Muslim men and boys bowed their heads in prayer. Behind them, women and girls prayed along, some with faces covered, some just their heads.

At the same moment, Muslims around Chicago and the world faced Mecca and prayed to Allah. They repeated the pattern of standing, kneeling, bending their foreheads to the ground, uttering prayers.

It was Ramadan — the ninth month in the Islamic calendar, in which Muslims fast and devote themselves to prayer, giving to the less fortunate and nourishing relationships. At the end of their fast each day, they ate an iftar — breaking their fast.

At this iftar in Morton Grove, Arabic, Urdu and English were spoken by Muslims whose roots traced to India, Pakistan, Jordan and Palestine. Soon, Spanish could also be heard.

Portland Police revoke permit, declare riot as protesters clash downtown

Antifa riots, Patriots Prayer loses permit, yeah that sounds legit

Portland Police declared a riot Saturday after tensions between the right-wing Patriot Prayer group and local anti-fascist activists came to a head and broke out in violence.

The afternoon began with a permitted rally at Terry Schrunk Federal Plaza organized by Joey Gibson, U.S. Senate candidate for Washington and leader of the right-wing, Vancouver-based group.

A counter-demonstration by masked local anti-fascist groups gathered nearby among a heavy police presence. Officers seized weapons such as utility knives, clubs and chemical sprays, detaining several protesters early on

Washington Post takes aim at Supreme Court Candidate Kavanaugh

Brett Kavanaugh, a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, is said to be one of the five or so jurists on the short-list for nomination to the Supreme Court. The Washington Post is concerned that Kavanaugh would try to shield President Trump from the Russia investigation and its various non-Russia related offshoots. That concern gives rise to this piece by Michael Kranish and Ann Marimow called “Top Supreme Court prospect has argued presidents should not be distracted by investigations and lawsuits.”

The basis for the Post’s attack on Judge Kavanaugh is a 2009 law review he wrote about criminal investigations of, and lawsuits against, presidents. Kavanaugh would be entitled to find irony in this attack.

He had been a member of Ken Starr’s team in its investigations of President Clinton. Yet, Kavanaugh’s 2009 law review article was sympathetic to Clinton.

The judge argued that, given the burden investigations like Starr’s place on a president, the nation’s chief executive should be exempt from “time consuming and distracting” lawsuits and investigations that “ill serve the public interest, especially in times of financial or national security crisis.” And he specifically acknowledged that the public interest was not well served by Clinton having to respond to Paula Jones’ lawsuit while still in office.

Naturally, Kavanaugh didn’t say the Starr investigation was improper. Rather, he contended that the statute Starr operated under was “badly flawed.”

It’s unlikely that anything in Kavanaugh’s article bothered Democrats at the time of publication or for a goodly period thereafter. His piece was, as I said, sympathetic to Clinton. Moreover, Barack Obama was in the White House, the potential beneficiary of any relief for the president from investigations, lawsuits, etc.

But in 2018, the left is obsessed with investigating, suing, and eventually impeaching the current Republican president. Thus, Stephen Vladek, a law professor quoted by the Post, is obviously correct in saying that the views Kavanaugh expressed in the 2008 law review article “will be a very central topic of questions from members of the Senate” if Trump nominates him. In fact, these views will make the heads of some Democratic Senators explode.

Here’s another irony, though: Kavanaugh is not among the most conservative nominees under consideration by President Trump.

Before Chief Justice Roberts declared the Obamacare penalty a “tax,” Kavanaugh had described it as such in a case challenging the individual mandate. The Obama administration cited Kavanaugh for this proposition and the notion carried the day before the Supreme Court.

In addition, Kavanaugh has declined to join conservative dissenting opinions in a few high profile cases. One was the minor illegal immigrant abortion case, Garza v. Hargan, 874 F.3d 735 (2017). Another was a suit challenging Obamacare’s requirement that faith-based nonprofits and other religious ministries facilitate access to contraception and abortifacients for their employees, Priests for Life v. U.S. Dep’t of HHS, 808 F.3d 1 (2005).

Kavanaugh dissented from the liberal outcome in both cases. However, he did not join a strong dissenting opinion by Judge Karen LeCraft Henderson in the first case and by Judge Janice Rogers Brown in the second.

To be clear, I think Kavanaugh would be a good Supreme Court Justice. But he is not the left’s worst nightmare. Or he wouldn’t be if the left weren’t so obsessed with hounding President Trump out of office.

Seattle cops flee the force in 'mass exodus' due to frustrations with city's politics, report says

At least 41 cops have left the Seattle Police Department this year, many of them reportedly citing frustration with the city's politics and a perceived lack of support from local officials.

Though documents showed some officers left the force due to retirement, a source in the department told Q13 FOX some 20 officers left and sought employment at other law enforcement agencies.

The source also said younger officers "don’t feel appreciated" and the number of those leaving who felt “frustrated over city politics is higher than usual.”

“Worker bees on the street, they don't feel appreciated. I’ve never seen anything like this in my life,” the source told Q13 FOX.

The Seattle Police Guild, the police labor union, which includes “all of the officers and sergeants on the Seattle Police Department,” according to its website, called the departures a “mass exodus” that would affect safety.

“Less officers on the streets, less safe for the citizens -- and when you have all these officers you have invested all this money in and they are leaving for Tacoma, Olympia, Pierce County and Snohomish County,” Seattle Police Officers Guild Vice President Richard O’Neill said.

He added: “I have never seen the number of officers who are leaving and the way they are leaving.”

As of 2017, there were 1,444 sworn officers on the force, according to the city.

O’Neill said many officers felt a lack of support from city officials.

“It's just depressing to serve in a place where many city council members who are coming out at times with negative comments about the police,” O’Neill said.

The union cited Mike O’Brien and Kshama Sawant, two Seattle City Council members, as being especially critical of law enforcement.

"A city council member can call two police officers 'murderers' and the city pays for her legal fees," a source told, referring to a fatal 2016 police-involved shooting.

The Seattle Police Guild said officers have not received a pay raise in three years due to contract negotiations. But O’Neill said the officers didn't leave because of the money issues -- they just became fed up with Seattle politics.

“I’ve been here since 1980, I’ve never seen the city in the condition it is in. It’s because it’s been allowed on many levels,” O’Neill said.

The Seattle Police Department struck a different tone, saying it would not characterize the departures as a “mass exodus” and noted the department was continuing to recruit officers, including women and minority candidates.

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan’s office released a statement regarding the union’s comments.

“Few issues are more important than public safety and keeping our families safe, and our officers are being asked to do more in our rapidly changing community," the statement said. "...The Mayor will continue to work closely with SPD and our officers to ensure they have the resources necessary to maintain their safety and the safety of our community.”

Okay, lets talk about Hugo Chavez in a Skirt

I’ve resisted the temptation to write about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez – the socialist candidate who won a primary against Establishment Democrat Joseph Crowley.

It isn’t that I’m not interested exactly.

It’s more that I wasn’t particularly interested in jumping on the bandwagon and promoting this Hugo Chavez in a skirt.

But in the intervening days since Tuesday’s primary, media outlets have been fawning all over this socialist candidate as if she’s the second coming of Jesus and not the second coming of Chavez.

And as I watch the slobbering love affair between Femme Chavez and the sycophants at MSNBC and CNN, I find myself grinning from ear to ear.

It’s always enjoyable watching another example of “Operation Backfire” unfold before our very eyes.

The news media is pushing her like she a movie star.

And because they always push too hard and too far, it’s going to blow up in their faces like a trick cigar.

In a way, what’s playing out is the exact same thing that the media did with David Hogg.

And how’d that work out for them?

Like little Hoggie before her, the fame has already gone to Female Chavez’s Ocasio-Cortez’s head.

In fact, she’s already endorsing other candidates.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Chavez in a skirt has endorsed the primary challenger of Florida congresswoman Stephanie Murphy.

From a veritable nobody to a self-styled king-maker in less than a week.

Talk about delusions of grandeur.

But the news media can’t get enough of her. And the more she talks — the larger her platform — the more insane and out of the mainstream Americans realize she is.

Sure, the predominantly Hispanic district in which she’s running may gobble up her nonsense with a spoon.

And who can blame them?

A lot of those folks come from parts of the world where Evita-like socialists are wildly popular.

But the rest of the country isn’t Venezuela – as much as socialists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may want it to b

This nonsense has to cease, No Commies in Government. Pass a damn Law or something

Oopsie-Reporter Who Falsely claimed Annapolis Shooter wore MAGA Hat Resigns

A reporter at a Massachusetts-based newspaper resigned Friday after falsely claiming in a tweet Thursday that the man who killed five employees at the Capital Gazzete newspaper left a “Make America Great Again” hat at the crime scene.

“Shooter who killed 4 people at Annapolis newspaper dropped his #MAGA hat on newsroom floor before opening fire,” Conor Berry, a reporter at The Republican in Springfield, Mass., wrote in a now-deleted tweet.

Berry, who covered politics and crime for The Republican, apologized for the “stupid” and “regrettable” tweet Friday, adding that it made his 21-year career as a journalist come to a “screeching halt.”

Berry’s bio on Twitter now reads: “Former newspaper reporter.”

Berry took full responsibility for the tweet in a resignation notice posted Friday on The Republican’s website.

“I am ashamed of my tweet, which taints the good work of fair-minded journalists everywhere,” Berry said.

“We need to be more vigilant than ever to be fair and accurate in a climate in which we are scrutinized and criticized,” said Wayne Phaneuf, the executive editor of the newspaper, in a statement.

In a follow-up interview with the Boston Globe, Berry said his tweet was a “snarky, sarcastic, cynical remark,” and lamented that his tweet gave more fuel to critics of the news media that believe reporters try to push a partisan agenda.

Thats straight up derangement
