Palo Duro Canyon Rocks Showcase Genesis Flood

BY TIM CLAREY, PH.D. * | FRIDAY, JUNE 29, 2018

ICR scientists recently led field trips through Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo, Texas, pointing out many geological features that show clear evidence of the global Flood. The walls of the canyon display over 700 feet of Flood strata.

Palo Duro Canyon is the second-largest in the U.S., behind only Grand Canyon. A bright orange siltstone, the Permian Quartermaster Formation, forms the base of the canyon. Secular scientists claim this layer is about 250 million years old. On top of this are the multicolored Triassic Tecovas Formation (shale) and Triassic Trujillo Formation (sandstone), both claimed to be about 210 million years old. These units were deposited just prior to the layers containing most of the dinosaurs. They contain fossils of phytosaurs (large crocodile-like reptiles) and amphibians up to seven feet in length.1

The rocks show no evidence of the supposed 40 million years of missing time between the Quartermaster and the overlying Tecovas. What are observed are flat-lying rocks upon flat-lying rocks for tens of miles in all directions. These sedimentary strata look like they were deposited layer after layer with no time gaps in between

The cap rock that makes the upper rim of Palo Duro Canyon is the Miocene-Pliocene Ogallala Formation. Composed of a tan cliff-forming sandstone, some siltstone, and a basal conglomerate layer,1 this uppermost unit is thought by evolutionists to have been deposited between 4 to 10 million years ago.2 Evolutionary geologists have recognized this uniformitarian paradox, stating:

You will note a lot of time is missing between the Trujillo and the Ogallala. Either the rocks representing about 200 million years of time were eroded away, or they were never deposited; whatever the case, a great unconformity is represented by the mere line between the multi-colored upper beds of the Trujillo and the lower tan beds of the Ogallala.3

The lack of any visible erosion is strong evidence that there were not millions of years between the deposition of the Triassic beds and the overlying Ogallala. Instead, we see a pattern—much like we see in Grand Canyon—that is best explained by continuous activity. The Ogallala is conformable to the underlying Trujillo all around the canyon rim, with no tilting of the underlying units and no erosional channels carved into the boundary surface.
.

The Ogallala covers about 174,000 square miles from Texas to South Dakota (Figure 1).4 While it is only 20 to 40 feet thick in the canyon, it increases to over 700 feet across much of the Great Plains. Igneous and metamorphic cobbles in the basal conglomerate of the Ogallala are sourced from the Rocky Mountains, hundreds of miles to the west.1

Secular scientists claim these are deposits from rivers, but a receding mega-flood explanation better fits the broad extent of the Ogallala. How else can a blanket sand layer spread across thousands of square miles with no evidence of river channelization? And localized post-Flood catastrophism cannot explain the massive extent of this deposit either, just like isolated regional processes cannot explain the huge deposit of the Whopper Sand in the deep Gulf of Mexico.5

The formation of the Ogallala would have required high-energy conditions over a huge area, similar to sheet-wash off a parking lot, to distribute the cobbles and sands so evenly across vast regions of the Great Plains. Visitors to Palo Duro Canyon can witness a vivid reminder of the rising and the receding stages of the Genesis Flood.

Showing why evolution is not science.

I was right!

I have been watching PMSNBC for over 1/2 hour now and not onje peep about the poor concentration camps kids and the evil Hitlerian Trump enslaving them.

It is non stop SCOTUS now and the fear that Trump will make the court 6-3 in favor of judges who will rule according to the constitution and not the latest societal fad-de-jour!

Immigration had its 15 minutes of democrat fame and is now done!

Especially in light of the unions no longer forcing people to help pay for their multi-million dollar contributions to the dem party! Millions of slush fund money is at stake- so it is to hell with the children!

Democrats to illegal immigrant children:

We thank you for letting us use you as political pawns and tv and sound bites. But now you need to be quiet an d sink onto the background.

With Kennedy retiring and SCOTUS saying workers don't have to be forced to pay union fees- we have a real issue we really care about: millions of dollars of union money that won't be donated to us!!!

Dear Liberals.

As you all appear to be for open or near open borders, and no vetting from countries that do pose serious terrorist threats to us., Let us look a tsome scenarios you believe in.

Every year we get between 3- 5 million new citizens come in (after all they will get the right to vote almost immediately according to many left leaning politicos),

How do you propose to pay for all these new citizens? After all we have a push now for every one to get free education and a $15 hour wage whether working or not! Tax the rich at 200% of their incomes? Confiscate peoples wealth? Then what? That will buy you a year or two and then where do you get all the cash.

It hasn't worked anywhere- what magic formula do you have to think marxist socialism will work here?????

A documented miracle took place!

I wish to share with you a real documented miracle.

I have been suffering with a ongoing mitral valve failing. (mitral valve prolapse with stenosis and regurgitation).

One month ago I had a heart ultrasound done in prep for my cardio appt. on Friday 6/15 so my cardiologist could determine when to schedule open heat surgery for valve replacement.

I had gone from mild/moderate to moderate /severe in 9 months so surgery was anticipated in the near future.

I had shared with my students in bible institute and they had been diligent in prayer for God to intervene on my behalf (I prayed as well).

Last friday my cardiologist told me he had perplexing news to share and he did not know how to explain it. I expected to hear bad news. He told me that my valve had improved and that was just not possible! Damage could level off and not progress but he had never heard of a heart valve actually improving. The regurgitation was way down, the stenosis had become less stiffened and the prolapse was markedly improved. When we got to how I could explain it- he had to see his next patient. I have to return in 3 months and he wants to hear what I have to say! It is easy! I am going to let the Dr. know that I serve a living God and His Son Jesus and they hear and answer prayers!

The doctor called it miraculous and I do as well. He is amazed and dumbfounded and I am just joyful and peaceful knowing that God does what man thinks is impossible!

worth thinking about !!!!

Fast Evolution Confirms Creationist Theory

BY RANDY J. GULIUZZA, P.E., M.D. * | MONDAY, JANUARY 16, 2017

A tenet of creationist theory maintains that creatures are designed for robust speciation. Although they cannot change into fundamentally different kinds, creatures can rapidly express a wide diversity of traits to fit changing environments. "Fast evolution affects everyone, everywhere" is one headline1 from the theme of the Royal Society's life science journal in January, 2017.2 But its content further bolsters creationist theory.

The pace of change within organisms is a keen topic of interest. One reason many people doubt evolution is that no one has ever seen one kind of creature change into another. Plant and animal breeders have never done it in thousands of years of concerted effort. Even experiments intended to force evolution along by inducing radical genetic mutations in breeding pairs result in crippled, but not basically transformed, progeny. Remarkably, both creationists and evolutionists are content with this fact.

Creation and Evolution Theory Expect Different Rates of Change

Evolutionists expect that the pace of evolutionary change will always be quite slow. No one should see it happen unless they could somehow live and observe for thousands of generations. One report accompanying the Royal Society's latest theme says, "Twenty-five years ago, science and society's view of the pace of evolution was not that different from the one famously espoused by Darwin more than 100 years previously: 'We see nothing of these slow changes in progress, until the hand of time has marked the long lapse of ages....'"3 In fact, Stephen J. Gould references that same Darwin quote. Just before it he adds, "Substantial change might occur as a very rare event, but most alteration must be insensible, even on geologic scales" with which he validates that "gradualism may represent the most central conviction residing both within and behind all Darwin's thoughts."4

Conversely, if the Flood decimated air-breathing organisms only about 4600 years ago and the Ark had limited kinds of animals, then creationists are challenged to explain the huge diversity of life we see today. Creationists theorize that organisms' innate systems enable rapid rates of trait diversification to explain how they continuously fill environmental niches—particularly post-Creation and Flood.5 Evolutionists have mocked the theory of rapid-trait expression (robust speciation) as a "post-Flood Big Bang" or "Radical Anteglacial Darwinism" saying that creationists accept "rates of change that would make an evolutionist blush."6

Rapid Trait Expression Is Observed

ScienceDaily reported on the "rapid evolution" seen in organisms. What their report and the original research paper call "evolution" is the expression of new traits by organisms responding to recent human activities. As ScienceDaily summed it up, "in a theme issue of the scientific journal Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B, researchers from McGill University have helped pull together the latest research on this phenomenon."7

ScienceDaily encapsulated the research in three examples of environmental conditions altered by recent human activity to which organisms responded by rapidly expressing new traits. The first was commercial fishing where "fish evolve to reproduce when they are younger and smaller, and thus tend to have fewer, smaller offspring." Next was the human introduction of invasive species setting conditions for "native species can then sometimes evolve in response." Finally, urbanization where "plants evolve decreased seed dispersal to compensate for the expansion of uninhabitable pavement, animals evolve resistance to industrial and residential chemicals."

One editor of the Royal Society's theme issue, Andrew Hendry, was quoted by ScienceDaily saying, "Evolution is occurring all around us all the time, and it is influencing our environment, our health, and our overall well-being." And, "in many cases, these effects play out over only a few years to decades—more quickly than biologists traditionally thought possible." This is counter-theoretical to evolution. Yet Hendry shrugged it off with, "when humans are involved, selection pressures on a species often become very strong, leading to fast evolution." Is this a scientific conclusion or speculation based on presuppositions?

Carefully Catching a Confirmation and the Cover-up

Findings of rapid trait expression by organisms tend to confirm creationist theory that emphasizes active, problem-solving organisms. As one evolutionist notes, rapid change is hard to reconcile with any theory that emphasizes an active environment fractioning out the genetic material of passive organisms by a mechanism which "requires radical amounts of natural selection (the Darwinian mechanism), mutations and genetic drift to accomplish such changes."8 The rapid changes documented in the Royal Society paper do not fit with the stagnant notion of the slow accumulation of random genetic mutations struggling to survive.

These rapid changes fit much better with contemporary research that reveals how organisms possess elaborate built-in systems composed of sensors, cellular algorithms, and output responses that enable them to continuously track environmental changes—man-made or otherwise—so they can quickly fit and fill new niches. Up-to-date research shows that they may employ dozens of mechanisms including epigenetic, hybridization, cryptic variation, behavioral changes, unreduced gametes, directed crossover, regulated micro-RNAs or RNA splicing, horizontal gene transfer, and even modulation of an organism's microbiota. None of these mechanisms require a struggle for life and death! Creationists have been reporting on these mechanisms which enable organisms to self-adjust to external conditions in a single generation—and often across multiple ones—for many years.9

Yet, it seems that the Royal Society and ScienceDaily nimbly absorbed findings against evolutionary theory as if they were evidence for their theory. Cornelius Hunter astutely exposed how evolutionists are trying to pull off a sleight-of-hand and swallow up findings related to epigenetics which contradict their theory.10 He expanded on, "the old maxim that truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident. If we can slightly modify these three stages as follows, then we have the history of how evolution has struggled and opposed the scientific findings we now refer to as epigenetics ":

Reject and persecute
Delegitimize and minimize
Rename and incorporate

Hunter's framework shows that evolutionists have now advanced to stage three as touching "rapid evolution." This is a way to cover up the failed gradualist tenet of their theory. Keeping Hunter's framework handy will likely prove useful to spot when evolutionists disguise scientific findings contradictory to their theory as evidence.

Did an Asteroid Impact Kill the Dinosaurs?

BY BRIAN THOMAS, M.S. * | THURSDAY, MAY 31, 2018

During a recent visit to a church, I told a group of children how and why Noah’s Flood fossilized the dinosaurs. A boy told me he saw a documentary that said an asteroid impact killed the dinosaurs. Did an impact or the Flood kill them? Three science clues help answer this question.

One clue is frogs. An impact powerful enough to demolish thick-skinned, tough, monstrous dinosaurs all over the world surely would have erased thin-skinned amphibians first. The same goes for certain sensitive clams, but that didn’t happen. Frog and clam fossils found near dinosaur bone fossils look the same as today’s frogs and clams.1 Harmful chemicals go right through porous frog skin, and silt chokes clam gills, so how did they survive and not dinosaurs?

Next, where is the impact crater? An impact large enough to wipe out all the world’s dinosaurs should have left a huge, round pit. Most scientists who study this think a region beneath the southern Gulf of Mexico and northern Yucatan Peninsula represents the impact site. However, others disagree for good reasons.

For one thing, the underground feature at that site is not round. Plus, an impact with worldwide destructive force would have melted rocks, but the site has very little melted rock. The rocks down there don’t need an impact to explain them. Magma that rose from the depths could have made the rocks the way we see them today.2 Why should we believe an impact killed the dinosaurs if we can’t find a crater that fills the bill?

Flexible animal tissues still persist inside many fossilized dinosaur bones. Tweet: Flexible animal tissues still persist inside many fossilized dinosaur bones.

The size and shape of rock layers give us a third clue that the Genesis Flood, not an asteroid impact, best explains the dinosaur fossils they contain. Each of these rock layers can cover thousands of square miles! A single layer can cover several states. For example, the Hell Creek and Lance Formations were deposited at the same time. They span Montana and Wyoming, plus parts of other states.

How could an impact way down in Mexico deposit this thick layer so far away? An impact should make a wedge-shaped layer, with mud thinning out from the crater. But actual dinosaur layers keep the same thickness for hundreds of miles. Noah’s Flood could do that.

The Bible says that surging Flood waters took months to cover the whole globe. Sure enough, dinosaurs got buried in mud on every continent. And this Flood happened about 4,500 years ago, not 66 million years ago. Science supports this, too. Erosion over millions of years would have carved ruts. Where are the expected ruts between the layers? Instead of erosion ruts, the upper surface of each layer looks flat, as though hardly any time passed before the next layer was laid on top of it by the next huge Flood surge.

Also, flexible animal tissues still persist inside many fossilized dinosaur bones. Blood vessels, hemoglobin proteins, and whole bone cells could never last one million years, let alone 67 million.3 These rocks and fossils look young.

Noah’s recent Flood formed dinosaur fossils fast all over the world. Tweet: Noah’s recent Flood formed dinosaur fossils fast all over the world.

Did an asteroid impact kill the dinosaurs millions of years ago? No way. Noah’s recent Flood formed dinosaur fossils fast all over the world.4

Some dinosaurs survived the Flood onboard Noah’s Ark. Genesis 7:15 says that Noah rescued two of every land-dwelling creature with the breath of life in its nostrils, and dinosaurs had legs and nostrils. It appears that the few dinosaurs that lived after the Flood eventually went extinct from habitat loss and hunting. See Thomas, B. 2017. Dinosaurs and Dragon Legends. Acts & Facts. 46 (7): 14-16.
