Hospital Workers Want to Throw Off a Union They Never Wanted to Join

Employees at a hospital in Pennsylvania are petitioning the National Labor Relations Board to overturn a board regional director’s decision to unionize the workers without their consent.

Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill East’s 160 workers were forced into a union membership with the Service Employees International Union through the “accretion doctrine,” a policy that allows the NLRB to unionize a group of employees despite a majority opposing membership.

“This case demonstrates how the National Labor Relations Act, which is ostensibly about the rights of employees, has been weaponized against independent workers who wish to remain free of union bosses’ so-called representation,” National Right to Work Foundation President Mark Mix said in a statement. “These employees successfully opposed an SEIU organizing campaign at their workplace only to have a union partisan at the NLRB force the union on them without a vote or any showing of interest.”

They don't want our representation? We'll force them to take it anyway. The left has lost so thoroughly that all it has left is coercion to force people to do things they don't want to do. A bankrupt ideology.

NBC news: Americans must prepare for a future where terror is routine

How about NO? Muslims choose to commit terror. They choose to continue to take that adder to their chests. If they choose to continue to accept terrorism and to hide terrorists in their communities, then it needs to cost them all dearly.

No Mecca, No Islam.

Four men jailed over sexual exploitation of young girls in Newcastle - Guardian

Four men have been jailed for up to 12 and a half years each for their involvement in a sex grooming network in Newcastle.

The offences occurred between 2007 and 2014, and the victims were described by the prosecution as “immature and vulnerable”. The men gave the girls drugs including ecstasy, cocaine, speed and cannabis, in return for “sexual favours and services”.

The men were all asylum seekers from either Iran or Iraq, and three had been granted leave to remain in the UK. As they are not British citizens, they are likely to be deported once they have served their prison sentences.
Lawyers for the men said they feared going back to their home countries. Jamie Adams, representing Saman Obaid, who arrived in the UK from Iraq in 2007, said: “He has had problems with alcohol, which perhaps is not surprising because, as always, he is worried about what is happening to his family back home. He himself is very concerned about his immigration status, particularly given what is happening in his domain.”

It would have been better for all concerned if they were instead hanged in the public square.

The Myth of Nazi Capitalism

During the nineteenth century, when socialism was becoming fashionable in Europe, there was no distinction between “socialism” and “communism.” There were different forms of socialism, of course, but these were not distinguished by the different terms. Different thinkers had their preference, but the terms were used interchangeably, even by Karl Marx. Mises writes, ”In 1875, in his Criticism of the Gotha Programme of the German Social Democratic Party, Marx distinguished between a lower (earlier) and a higher (later) phase of the future communist society. But he did not reserve the name of communism to the higher phase, and did not call the lower phase socialism as differentiated from communism.”

German socialism, as Mises defines it, differs from what he called “socialism of the Russian pattern” in that “it, seemingly and nominally, maintains private ownership of the means of production, entrepreneurship, and market exchange.” However, this is only a superficial system of private ownership because through a complete system of economic intervention and control, the entrepreneurial function of the property owners is completely controlled by the State. By this, Mises means that shop owners do not speculate about future events for the purpose of allocating resources in the pursuit of profits. Just like in the Soviet Union, this entrepreneurial speculation and resource allocation is done by a single entity, the State, and economic  calculation is thus impossible.

The Soviets were able to brand the Nazis as capitalists only because they had already started redefining the terms “socialism” and “communism” to fit their own political agenda. In 1912, Lenin formed his Communist Party. The members of his party, the Bolsheviks, were now distinct from the other, rival groups of socialists. The terms “communism” and “socialism” were still able to be used interchangeably, and the Soviet Union itself was just a shorthand name for the “United Soviet Socialist Republics.” But by branding his group under the title of the “Communist Party,” the title “Communist” — now meaning a member of Lenin’s party — became a way of saying that this was a “true socialist,” so to speak.

How people could think that a political party that puts socialist right in it's name is anything other than socialist is something beyond belief.

November 4 and the death spasms of the left.

....What we are experiencing, far from a deadly revolutionary upsurge threatening everything of value, is a historically unique situation where, for the first time on record, a leftist movement is in complete and accelerating collapse within a democratic polity. The upcoming people’s revolt is simply another symptom of this.

The Democrats, America’s de facto leftist party (note how a sworn socialist, Bernie Sanders, is effectively exercising leadership of the party without anyone so much as blinking) have lost over 1,000 offices nationwide in the past year. The GOP controls nearly two-thirds of all governorships and nearly half of state governments. The left’s political presence and influence is negligible across vast areas of the heartland. They have abandoned the working class, the bedrock of any leftist movement, in favor of representing transsexuals, ball club millionaires, and noncitizen criminals, not a strategy with much of a future, on the face of it

Left-wing failure is not arguable. The international record stands for itself, having become a truism without ever quite attaining the status of a cliché. Though the academy and the media have tried their best to bury the record (while earnest and naïve types such as Anne Applebaum scratch their heads as to why it lacks the immediacy of the Nazi crimes), it’s impossible to hide failures so gargantuan as to have left mountainous piles of corpses across the entire landscape of Eurasia. (Every few years the spring thaw in Siberia and the Urals uncovers mass graves, the legacy of the Gulag, sending thousands of mummified, nearly intact corpses drifting down the rivers. This is what Weinstein, Antifa and the rest would wish on us.) The same pattern is occurring at this moment in Venezuela, a wealthy nation reduced first to pauperdom and soon to open massacre.

A well written, well thought out article. The left has nothing left but violence, and leftists know it. Their policies stand as the naked failures they are, far too often on top of mountains of human bodies. This is why the left is trying so hard to silence people that disagree, even though that tactic only further dooms it.

Du(h) lies and whines about radio.

I normally don't go over there, no I don't care what you believe, but I saw this thread and it irked me, not because it's liberals telling lies, they do that all the time after all, but because of what they are choosing to lie about.

murielm99, get your ass over here and defend yourself, if you dare.

They are talking about K-Love. Is it the greatest music in the world, no, but they don't put dreadful or vile music up either. Their praise music is meant to be uplifting, and in that regard, it succeeds. It's probably the second radio station on my radio dial, so I listen quite a bit. I have never once heard them discuss illegal aliens, except to mention that we are all God's children. I have never heard them discuss homosexuals except in the same vein as illegal aliens. I have never heard them mention the ACLU. They may, correctly, have said that most of the founding fathers were absolutely Christian, well that's true, and I know how much that chaps the ass of the modern liberal.

As one of my favorite posters on another site says, "Dummies lie. All the time, Dummies lie."

So now, you aren't allowed to have a statue if you "lost"

Okay, go tell people these statues have to come down.

Erasing history is dangerous and stupid.

Then again, I doubt leftists would have a clue who most of these people are.

So, when is the statue of Margaret Sanger coming down.

Extreme racist and responsible for the death of millions of black children.

Or is she sacrosanct because the left loves abortion?

Summoning the Demons

We’re rapidly approaching 1930s Weimar Germany all over again – two brands of social collectivist thuggary duking it out for control.

When the Left indulges in rhetoric that demonizes whites — especially white males — it summons the demons of white nationalism.

When the Left institutionalizes demonization of white males in college classes, in political movements, in the media and elsewhere, it summons the demons of white nationalism.

The hypocrisy has been apparent for some time. Just as there was outrage spun up at the idea of a “National Association for the Advancement of White People,” one cannot imagine our society tolerating a “White Congressional Causus” or “White Student Union.” The Left gleefully and openly looks forward to the day when the United States is a “majority minority” nation (meaning no one group has more than 50% of the population). Why can’t they understand their rhetoric makes many whites see that looming milestone less as a leveling of the playing field than as the day when a long-anticipated “payback” begins?

The Unique Evil of the Left

(note, While I won't take more than four paragraphs of the author's work, I can't point out where they would have a claim to their quotations from other sources in the article.)

In place of the various customs and settled ways of a France with well over a millennium of history behind it, the radical revolutionaries introduced a “rational” alternative cooked up in their heads, and with all the warmth of an insane asylum.

We are plenty familiar with the guillotine, but the revolutionaries concocted still other forms of execution as well, like the Drownings at Nantes, designed to humiliate and terrorize their victims.

Given that the left has sought the complete transformation of society, and given that such wholesale change is bound to come up against the resistance of ordinary people who don’t care for having their routines and patterns of life overturned, we should not be surprised that the instrument of mass terror has been the weapon of choice. The people must be terrified into submission, and so broken and demoralized that resistance comes to seem impossible.

"The right stands for liberty, a free, unprejudiced form of thinking; a readiness to preserve traditional values (provided they are true values); a balanced view of the nature of man, seeing in him neither beast nor angel, insisting on the uniqueness of human beings which cannot be transformed into or treated as mere numbers or ciphers. The left is the advocate of the opposite principles; it is the enemy of diversity and the fanatical promoter of identity. Uniformity is stressed in all leftist utopias, paradises in which everybody is the same, envy is dead, and the enemy is either dead, lives outside the gates, or is utterly humiliated. Leftism loathes differences, deviations, stratifications. ... The word “one” is its symbol: one language, one race, one class, one ideology, one ritual, one type of school, one law for everybody, one flag, one coat of arms, one centralized world state."

"Church schools, parochial schools, private schools, personal tutors, none is in keeping with leftist sentiments. The reasons are manifold. Not only is delight in statism involved, but also the idea of uniformity and equality — the idea that social differences in education should be eliminated and all pupils be given a chance to acquire the same knowledge, the same type of information, in the same fashion, and to the same degree. This should enable them to think in identical or at least in similar ways."

-Erik von Kuehnelt-Leddihn (Classical Liberal)

As time has passed, leftists have bothered less and less to pretend to be neutral between competing social visions. This is why conservatives who accuse the left of moral relativism have it so wrong. Far from relativistic, the left is absolutist in its demands of conformity to strict moral codes.

All in all, I can't really bring it over in enough of a matter to truly do it justice, but it's a good article pointing that the intolerance of the current left is not an aberration but a feature coded into it's very DNA from it's inception and the terrors of the French Revolution.
