Remember, Remember

A question to the paid Hillary posters

When an anti-Trump article appears online, e.g., "Trump server connected to Russia," I notice that the same article gets posted 3-4 times immediately. My question is do you get paid only if you're first, as there seems to be an immediate rush to post, or do you share in the pay if you're second, third...?

Sunday in the Park

And it's definitely NOT the Fourth of July!

Sundays in London are always special, regardless of the weather. A day of "rest" relaxing in the fibre of one of the world's great cities, second only to Paris in my opinion, with its parks, galleries, and architecture is a joy in life. Autumn too is special, reflecting the current stage of my life...

I woke last night to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered
Started humming a song from 1962
Ain't it funny how the night moves
When you just don't seem to have as much to lose
Strange how the night moves
With autumn closing in.

-Bob Segar, Night Moves

So a DILO for a Sunday.

Autumn has come to Hyde Park where I spent part of the morning...

Extra hour today!

Clocks go back an hour. Woke up at what I thought was six (according to my clock) only to find out it was five!

Happy Sunday from the UK

Jack Chick died last week. For those of you who've never heard of him, he's known for his "Chick Tracts"...

Jack Thomas Chick (April 13, 1924 – October 23, 2016) was an American cartoonist and publisher, best known for his evangelical fundamentalist Christian "Chick tracts", which presented his perspective on a variety of issues through sequential-art morality plays.

Many of Chick's views were controversial, as he accused Roman Catholics, Freemasons, Muslims, Jews, and many other groups of murder and conspiracies. His comics have been described by Robert Ito, in the Los Angeles magazine, as "equal parts hate literature and fire-and-brimstone sermonizing".

These were pretty vile things, preaching the gospel of the lake of hell. A YouTube channel, The Bible Reloaded, periodically reads these with humorous voice overs and sometimes high school humour commentary. There's been a lot of activity on the internets inspired by Chick's death, but this is the most insightful that I've seen...

Happy Saturday from the UK

On the day following Dickileaks, seems particularly appropriate.

Loving Vincent

Can't wait to see this.

Loving Vincent is the upcoming first fully painted animated film. It tells the story of painter Vincent van Gogh. It is written and directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, and is being produced by BreakThru Films and Trademark Films, set up by David Parfitt. The development was funded by the Polish Film Institute, and re-training of professional oil painters to become painting-animators on the film was partially funded through a Kickstarter campaign. The film is being sold by Cinema Management Group and financiers include City of Wrocław, European Capital of Culture in 2016.

Each of the film's 56,800 frames is an oil painting on canvas, using the same technique as van Gogh, created by a team of 60 painters.
