"oh ok, will have a glass of sherry and chill. Thanks"

God, who are these people? Mr. Tough Guy starts out with a rant about the lack of anti-Trump propaganda on CNN and MSNBC, reminding Trump supporters that THEY OWN IT...

Why is CNN and MSNBC showing the sixties and locked up
on a Monday evening when so much shit is happening with the trump cabal. Are they protecting him like they did in promoting this piece a shit before the primaries. CNN I dislike with a passion, that channel gave trump billions of dollars in free coverage, whilst ignoring a bona fide candidate, Mrs. Clinton.

And for those who have buyers remorse, I do not feel sorry for them. I blame the folks who voted third party and who could not vote for a woman. Can you imagine if Mrs. Clinton was elected, the frigging US will still be a country that leads and the world would be proud of. Now, we have to deal with a fuck up who is demented and senile.

Goodness, who voted for this fuck up, owns it?

When posters remind him/her that it's a holiday and perhaps he should let it go for s few hours and have a drink, his response is as above. Mr. Tough Guy's off to pour a stiff sherry!

Happy Birthday Ian Fleming

"Never say 'no' to adventures. Always say 'yes,' otherwise you'll lead a very dull life."

Our colleague Applegrove inadvertently (?) exposes DUmmy hypocrisy

Some newer DUers are calling for the death penalty for Jared Kushner
or Trump. Can we be a bit more civil? This does nothing but terrorize a public bewildered by the Trumps and looking to democrats for answers.

Notice the deflection (purposeful or ironic?) of the word "newer"? But then along comes everyone's favourite ItIt2 (aka SheShe2), hardly a new DUmmy with 41,000+ posts to shatter his dream (or prove his point?).

29. Well...
That is exactly what they are doing to American citizens...executing us by taking away our health care, SS, Medicare, Medicaid. All safety nets. They are taking away our environment, Our clean air we breathe and water we drink. They are destroying our National Parks and polluting the water we swim in. They have given America a death sentence. I hope they get the same.

You get what you give.

And as if their hypocrisy on the DP isn't amusing enough, learn that deep down they view homosexuality as a perversion. In a sequence around th inevitable "throw them in jail and let them be raped," we hear all about the perversion of men -- Jared in this case -- taking it from behind...

69. Who could say, given the level of perversion in the family. The Pervert in Chief and his
golden showers for one thing. Bannon called him a "cuck". Could very well be that she has him broke in well with her strap on's. He might just be into it.

Great work Applegrove! Keep up the excellent trolling.

Happy Friday from the UK

Excellent combination of music and visuals with no spoken audio...

"There have been three presidents I've despised..."

The OP starts with three -- Reagan, W, and Trump. Nixon's soon thrown into the mix. Finally,...

35. I've despised six presidents in my life.

Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush I, Bush II, and now, more than any president in my lifetime, Trump.

Not surprising. What is particularly sad is the word "hate." I don't "hate" any of the presidents of my lifetime.

While I think Jimmy Carter was not up to the job, I certainly don't "hate" him.

I was always amused by Bill's philandering, but sympathised given his particular hellish alternative. Hey, if you can get a BJ from a 20 year old intern, why not? With Bill, my only question was his taste in women.

With O, I recognised that he was riding a wave of colour to the presidency. Good on him. In the same situation, I'd do the same. I thought he was a pretty crappy president, but "hate," no way.

People so obsessed with hatred of the "enemy," whether they are Left or Right, need to seek help.

Happy Sunday from the UK

and from Carl and the Hitch...

Alexa! (Amazon Echo)

I have one and combined with Amazon Music Unlimited, it's great. However, in many cases, it failed to understand my voice commands. For example, it could never understand "Play Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues by Bob Dylan". It would always respond with a blues station or blues music by Bob Dylan.

Since I live in the U.K., I had bought it from Amazon UK and it, therefore, defaulted to Voice: English UK. I changed that setting this morning to US and behold, it understands me perfectly even down on Rue Morgue Avenue.

I've lived here for 7.5 years straight and over 10 of the last 20 years and, evidently, I still have that American accent! The only downside is that Alexa speaks in a down home, girl-next-door accent now instead of her sexy British accent.

The Glass Bead Game is thus a mode of playing with the total contents and values of our culture; it plays with them as, say, in the great age of the arts a painter might have played with the colors on his palette. All the insights, noble thoughts, and works of art that the human race has produced in its creative eras, all that subsequent periods of scholarly study have reduced to concepts and converted into intellectual property—on all this immense body of intellectual values the Glass Bead Game player plays like the organist on an organ. And this organ has attained an almost unimaginable perfection; its manuals and pedals range over the entire intellectual cosmos; its stops are almost beyond number. Theoretically this instrument is capable of reproducing in the Game the entire intellectual content of the universe.
-Herman Hesse, The Glass Bead Game

As the miller told his tale

But then for mercy he made such a plea
And spoke so fairly, offering so fast
His all to her, that she agreed at last 3290
To grant to him her love: she made her promise
To be at his commandment, by Saint Thomas
Of Kent, when she saw opportunity.
"My husband is so full of jealousy,
If you don't wait and privy be," she said, 3295
"I know right well that I'm as good as dead.
You must be secret, keep this matter quiet."

-Geoffrey Chaucer, The Miller's Tale

Only in the freedom of our speaking with one another.” To preserve that freedom, we have to become guardians of our language. We have to keep it alive and working. That means being very intentional about using words. That means, for example, calling lies, “lies.” I am talking to you, National Public Radio, home to the word “misstatement,” among others. The NPR argument is that the definition of “lie” involves intent—a lie is a statement made with the intention to deceive—and NPR does not have conclusive information on Trump’s intent. The problem is, the euphemism “misstatement” clearly connotes a lack of intent—as though Trump simply took an accidental wrong step. But words exist in time: the word “misstatement” suggests a singular occurrence, thereby eliding Trump’s history of lying. The word “misstatement,” as applied to Trump, is, actually, a lie—as it is the lie that there are neutral words.

If I recall correctly, the Terror of Tuzla's official explanation for this was that she "misspoke."
