Obama's ransom payment to Iran prompts more hostage taking...

State Department issued a warning on Monday urging U.S. citizens to avoid traveling to Iran, which has made the detention of Americans a priority.

The latest travel advisory, which emphasizes Iran’s desire to capture U.S. citizens, comes on the heels of a growing scandal over the Obama administration’s decision to pay Iran $400 million in cash on the same day that it freed several U.S. hostages.

The payment has been cast by lawmakers and others as a ransom payment and prompted concern among U.S. officials that Iran is making arresting Americans a priority.

The travel warning is meant to “highlight the risk of arrest and detention of U.S. citizens, particularly dual national Iranian-Americans,” according to a State Department announcement on Monday. “Foreigners, in particular dual nationals of Iran and Western countries including the United States, continue to be detained or prevented from leaving Iran.”

New York Times Tech Columnist Calls on Google to Hide Hillary Health Info

New York Times tech columnist Farhad Manjoo is calling on Google to “fix” its search engine results to hide evidence of Hillary Clinton’s failing health. “Go online and put down, ‘Hillary Clinton illness,’ and take a look at the videos yourself,” Rudy Giuliani recently said on Fox News, during an argument about how sick Clinton really is.

Manjoo of the Times called for Google to “fix” the problem of search results possibly hurting the Democratic nominee.

Clinton is still taking strong medications, such as the blood thinner Coumadin after she suffered a blood clot and concussion. Dr. Drew Pinsky described her drug regimen as “1950s-level care” on his radio show this week.

Our Views: Vacation or not, a hurting Louisiana needs you now, President Obama

Now that the flood waters ravaging Louisiana are receding, it's time for President Barack Obama to visit the most anguished state in the union.

Last week, as torrential rains brought death, destruction and misery to Louisiana, the president continued his vacation at Martha’s Vineyard, a playground for the posh and well-connected.

We’ve seen this story before in Louisiana, and we don’t deserve a sequel. In 2005, a fly-over by a vacationing President George W. Bush became a symbol of official neglect for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The current president was among those making political hay out of Bush’s aloofness.

Sometimes, presidential visits can get in the way of emergency response, doing more harm than good. But we don’t see that as a factor now that flood waters are subsiding, even if at an agonizing pace. It’s past time for the president to pay a personal visit, showing his solidarity with suffering Americans.

Rights groups silent as Clinton Foundation takes millions from countries that imprison gays

The Clinton Foundation has accepted millions from Middle Eastern and other foreign governments that criminalize homosexuality – but prominent gay rights groups in America have stayed silent on the apparent disconnect between Hillary Clinton’s rhetoric and the donations. "Unquestionably, they're not standing up for their principles," said Human Rights Foundation President Thor Halvorssen.

The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee frequently talks about her support for the LGBT community, while ripping what she describes as discriminatory policies in the U.S.

"It's outrageous that, in 2015, you can still be fired for being gay," she told the Human Rights Campaign in an October 2015 speech. "You can still lose your home for being gay. You can even be denied a wedding cake for being gay."

But published reports and figures provided by the Clinton Foundation on its website show the group has accepted millions from countries that prosecute and imprison gay people – and worse. The following is an overview of those contributions, as well as policies from donor nations as detailed by the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA).

Creaky Hillary needs help... SHOCK PHOTO: Multiple staffers help unstable Hillary up stairs

The questionable health condition of Hillary Clinton should be a major issue of the 2016 campaign.

The latest evidence comes in the form of Clinton being helped up a set of stairs by multiple individuals outside what appears to be a home.

The photos, published by Reuters and Getty, show the 68-year-old candidate with aides holding her arms as she ascends the stairs.

Meat should be taxed at the wholesale level to raise the price and deter consumption, says a new report from the UN’s International Research Panel (IRP). This will (supposedly) save the environment and prevent global warming.

“I think it is extremely urgent,” said Professor Maarten Hajer of Utrecht University in the Netherlands, lead author of the report. “All of the harmful effects on the environment and on health needs to be priced into food products.”

Hajer and other members of the IRP assert that livestock creates 14.5 percent of the greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change.

The cursed Olympics? Freak 15-foot waves flood TV broadcasting building on Rio’s Copacabana...

... Beach sparking fears it could collapse into the sea. Freak 15-foot waves lashed Copacabana beach in Rio over the weekend.

However, the Brazilian ambassador to UK, Eduardo dos Santos told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that he was confident Rio was ready to host the Games.

He said: 'The Games will be a great success. I can reassure that Rio de Janeiro is ready for the Games in all its aspects. People – athletes and visitors – are ready, they are coming in to Rio and we are welcoming all of them with open arms.’

And asked about the athletes’ accommodation, he added:'Well there have been some problems, it is not an easy task. It is a big challenge to organise particularly the first Olympic and Paralympic Games in South America, we feel honoured with that but we have to work hard and also work hard in cooperation, not only with those who organised the successful Games in London in 2012 but also international organisations - the International Olympic Committee, which is important and responsible for the Games, of course.'

WELL THEN, let the games begin!...
