North Korea speculation thread

I'd like to start a thread where we all speculate about what is going to play out over the next few weeks and months. There are plenty of thread where we are all criticizing or praising the Administration about any particular plans. For this, I'd rather we confine it to, whether we like our predictions or not, to merely predict the course we thinks events will go.

Will we take action in North Korea?
If so what form will it take?
What are the consequences and possibly repercussions?
Will Kim Jong Un be in power this time next year?
What about Seoul? Tokyo?
How will China figure into this?

It's your chance to play Armchair General!

If you want to listen to (and laugh at) North Korea go here:

The site won't let me copy links but if you go to the lower left "Current Affairs" section you can listen to some really loony rants.

We can't bring back the dead, but this should save the taxpayers some money

The disturbing moment a man accused of repeatedly raping a 10-year-old girl and later killing her and her grandparents in a house fire jumped to his death from a courthouse balcony has been captured on camera.
Robert Seman Jr, 48, was set for trial this week at the Mahoning County Courthouse in Youngstown, Ohio, over the deadly arson when he threw himself from the fourth-floor.

Seman faced the death penalty if convicted of aggravated murder charges in the March 2015 deaths of 10-year-old Corrine Gump, 63-year-old William Schmidt and 61-year-old Judith Schmidt.

I live not too far from here. The needle would have been too good for him. Basically he burned to death the 10 year old girl he raped and her grandparents to prevent her from testifying against him.

Got ready for some serious brewing this weekend

A friend of mine got his hands on a used Knob Creek Bourbon barrel. We're going to make a Bourbon Barrel Stout. I filled it with water yesterday to swell the staves to seal it.

This is gonna be goooood!!!

F-16 down near Andrews, pilot ejected

Washington (CNN)A US F-16 crashed several miles outside Joint Base Andrews in Maryland on Wednesday, two Air Force officials told CNN.

The crash took place about six miles outside the base, which is located in Prince George's County.
The pilot ejected in "an unpopulated area" and "is OK," one of the officials said, adding that the F-16 was from the 113th Fighter Wing.
Additional information was not immediately available.

Disgraceful: Only 7 in 10 Air Force planes are ready to fly

No wonder we have to now spend so much to get back up to snuff.

On any given day, according to official statistics, nearly three out of every 10 aircraft in the Air Force’s aging fleet are out of commission — in the shop getting upgrades, undergoing regular maintenance or inspections, or receiving heavier-duty repair work.

And the problem is getting worse. Mission-capable rates — the metric by which the Air Force measures how much of its fleet can fight or fly other missions at any given time — are trending downward, slowly but steadily.

In fiscal 2014, mission-capable rates for all of the Air Force’s airplanes and helicopters were just shy of 74 percent.

One year later, that rate had dropped to 73 percent. It fell even further in 2016, to about 72 percent.

The decline in readiness is accompanied — and partly caused — by the increasing age of the Air Force’s fleet. The average aircraft age has spiked in recent years, from roughly 24 years in fiscal 2010 to 27 years in 2016.
