Just ordered Christmas dinner. Gonna eat well

Duck bacon for breakfast, a goose for dinner, and both duck prosciutto and a charcuterie set of duck and pork for the evening.

I'm considering throwing in a small turducken just for good measure.

We'll probably have the evening items with an OpusX and a good Single Malt in front of the new fireplace.

On edit: Yeah, went and got a small 6 pound turducken as well. If you're gonna food coma, do it right.

Considering I'll be under serious food restrictions for a while starting next month, might as well eat well now.

The fireplace is finally finished!

We put in a double fireplace during our housefire rebuild. What I learned is a see through has no draw. The thing is so damn big I needed to have a door custom made to put on to one side for draw. Now all I have to do is finish hanging the stone and building the pass through shelves on either side.

Impeachment: What a waste of time and taxpayer's money

Considering the outcome in the Senate is a foregone conclusion AND the fact that it is obvious that this will not change a single person's vote what was the point?

I mean, does anyone believe a Democrat will be outraged by the "injustice" and vote for Trump? Conversely does anyone really think a Republican or Trump leaning Independent is going to turn around now and say "That's it! I can't vote for him now, it's the Democrat for me!"?

Again, what real purpose does this serve? The best I can tell is it keeps Democratic representatives in hard Left districts from perhaps getting primaried by angry voters.

My wife rocks!!!!!

It took a week's worth of nagging phone calls, but between the two of (mainly her subtle threats and good records preservation) we have managed to get my surgery back on track!

Just waiting to get back on the schedule now.

Best Christmas got I could have got.

I live in one of those swing D Districts. This is what I sent this morning

"Dear Rep. Lamb

I am writing in regard to the current ongoing Impeachment hearing in the House. I am beyond appalled at the utter waste of time and taxpayer money that has been wasted in this farcical kangaroo court.

From quite literally before President Trump even took the Oath of Office the drumbeat of the voices of the deranged, obsessed with their loss in the Electoral College, have looked for reason after reason after reason to overturn the voice of the people. IT MUST STOP.

In less than one year from today the people will go to the polls to determine whether or not the President deserves a second term. Do not be tempted to think that mere politicians know better than the voters. If you have made your case, then you have nothing to be concerned about. The current drive to Impeachment, however, is prima facia evidence that the House Leadership are terrified the voters are not buying what Chairman Schiff and Nadler are selling.

Should you look at the voting patterns of this District it is quite apparent that you tread a fine line. Indeed, if anything support for President Trump has increased over the past four years. If you go against the will of the voters in our moderate pro-labor working class district, I can guarantee you we will not forget that come November 2020.

Speaking personally, I will make sure to remind each and every person I speak with of the betrayal of you Oath to represent our will at every opportunity I have.

In short PA17 is watching."

'Star Trek' actor Robert Walker Jr. dead at 79

Robert Walker Jr., best known for a classic early Star Trek episode and as the son of Hollywood stars Robert Walker and Jennifer Jones, died Thursday in Malibu, according to family members. He was 79.

The New York native portrayed the twitchy, callow title character in “Charlie X,” the second episode of Star Trek’s pioneering first season in 1966, and also handled the title role of the notable 1960s feature films Ensign Pulver and Young Billy Young.

Trump lost the GM plant in Lordstown,OH... Oh wait...

LORDSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – General Motors will begin battery production at a facility in the Lordstown area.

The company made the announcement Thursday, expecting the plant to create 1,100 jobs.

GM is partnering with LG Chem, which is investing up to $2.3 billion through the new, equally-owned joint venture company.

The plant will be focused on the mass production of battery cells for future battery-electric vehicles. It will be built on a greenfield manufacturing site in the area.

It comes a little more than a year after announcing General Motors would end production of the Chevy Cruze in Lordstown. GM’s CEO Mary Barra told reporters by phone Thursday morning that the Valley still figures prominently in the automaker’s future.

Although Barra wouldn’t provide many specifics, she said work should start next spring. At one point, she was asked if this new project will help ease some of the ill-will left over from the closing of the GM complex.

“I think it’s a very important step. I mean, General Motors has always talked about our commitment to all of our stakeholders, one of which is the communities that we live and work,” said Barra.

Spammers deserve a painful death

Woke up this morning to find my mail server down. Here it turns out we got spam bombed overnight. Several thousand messages stuck in the queue, all junk. It took me over two hours just to clear out all the junk and restart all services. It even managed to trash the SMTP Server in IIS, which I had to reset.

I'm currently loading a VM emergency recovery Exchange server to temporarily move all mailboxes so I can properly in place reinstall Exchange on the real machine. It's perhaps a good thing surgery was pushed back. I could never have fixed this from a hospital bed.
