A buck in rut just attacked and damaged my new car. I'm pissed!

I was just driving out to the nearest town to get some Halloween candy and pick up a prescription when out of some deep weeds and trees on the side of the little two lane country road a big-ass buck just charged out of the woods and plowed into the rear side of my car. Damn! I've only owned it 3 weeks!! I just got the damn title in the mail today, so I've yet to even let the insurance company know I got it!. Luckily there isn't much damage. A broken piece of trim, a scuff on the paint that can be buffed out, and a small dent about 3 inches long that I think the paintless dent repair guy can get out. Still.... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is how wars start: USS Ronald Reagan buzzed by Russians

http://www.stripes.com/news/pacific/russian-aircraft-approach-uss-ronald-reagan-prompting-us-fighter-jet-scramble-1.375709

YOKOSUKA NAVAL BASE, Japan — The USS Ronald Reagan scrambled its fighter jets earlier this week after two Russian naval reconnaissance aircraft flew within one nautical mile of the U.S. aircraft carrier as it sailed in international waters east of the Korean Peninsula, according to 7th Fleet officials.

In the latest in a series of incidents involving Russian aircraft, two Tupolev Tu-142 Bear aircraft flew as low as 500 feet Tuesday morning near the Reagan, which has been conducting scheduled maneuvers with South Korean navy ships. Four F/A-18 Super Hornets took off from the Reagan’s flight deck in response to the Russian advance, 7th Fleet spokeswoman Lt. Lauren Cole said Thursday.

U.S. officials attempted to contact the Russian aircraft but received no radio response. A U.S. ship escorting the Ronald Reagan followed the Russian aircraft as they withdrew, Navy officials said.

Terrified British tourists screamed and fled for their lives at a Turkish hotel after a staff member dressed up as an ISIS killer - and even pretended to withdraw a gun at the poolside, it is reported.

The male worker, who has not been identified, allegedly donned a black hood, mask and robes before confronting unsuspecting holidaymakers by the pool at Club Hotel Pineta in Marmaris.

As his colleagues watched in amusement, he reportedly chanted in Arabic, before approaching a six-year-old girl playing near a sunbed and pretending to reach for a weapon under his robes.

He then went into the three-star hotel's restaurant, where he continued his act, The Sun reports.

19 year old sleepwalks for 9 MILES!!!

I know this happens to some people but I still find it beyond comprehension.

http://kdvr.com/2015/10/27/jefferson-county-deputies-searching-for-missing-sleepwalker-in-arvada/

ARVADA, Colo. -- A 19-year-old sleepwalker who went missing Tuesday morning was found safe at her uncle's home about nine miles from her residence, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.

Taylor Gammel, 19, was discovered missing in the 5600 block of Fig Court about 6:15 a.m. when her father called 911 after waking up to find the back door of his house open.

He told a dispatcher his daughter is known to be a sleepwalker and he was concerned for her well-being, sheriff's spokesman Mark Techmeyer said.

About 8:15 a.m., a call came in from someone who said they thought they saw Gammel at a bus stop at West 58th Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard. At 9 a.m., Gammel's uncle called to say the woman was at his home in Westminster, nine miles from her house.

So wrong, and yet so good.

So, has anyone stopped by their local Walmart and picked up a can of their exclusive flavor Pringles yet?

Bacon flavored Pringles:

I know there is nothing good in these but they are addictively good

Things you just can't understand...

How is it I can have a lousy smoke detector that goes off when I try and cook soup but doesn't make a peep when in a fit of frustration I burn it on top of a pile of cardboard I needed to get rid of?

Psychology study designs world's most hideous car

Interesting insight that shows how decisions based on compromise and group input don't always deliver the best result:

http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2015/10/19/psycological-study-designs-perfect-car/?intcmp=hpbt4

Have a couple of thousand people design the perfect car and you’ll end up with something perfectly hideous. At least that was the outcome of a study conducted by a psychology professor in the U.K.

Professor Peter Hancock of Scotland’s University of Stirling asked 2,004 Britons to pick their favorite cars from among the most popular in several categories, including sports and retro models, and the elements they liked most about each, The Sunday Times reports.

They then had to choose their favorite body styles, colors, and what type of doors they preferred conventional, suicide or gullwing.

When Hancock tallied the results, he ended up with a four-door sedan with the front of an Aston Martin DB9 with Mini Cooper headlights added, the roof and windows of a Lamborghini Gallardo, the rear end of a Triumph Spitfire fitted with Audi A1 taillights, the four doors from a Rolls Royce Phantom (suicide style in the rear, of course,) the wheels of a Range Rover Evoque SUV, and the side view mirrors from a Citroen C4 Picasso, which is an odd-looking car in its own right.

Wow. A modern day Potemkin Village

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/oct/16/uzbek-farmers-glue-cotton-on-bushes

When word came that the Uzbek prime minister would be driving past their village, local officials wanted to impress him with roads lined by snowy white fields of cotton.

The only problem was that the cotton had already been picked.

So, locals say, farmers were told to glue cotton balls back on the bushes to give an impression of a bountiful harvest of the country’s most important crop.

Ahead of the expected visit by the prime minister, Shavkat Mirziyaev, at the end of September, some 400 men and women in the village of Shaharteppa in Ferghana province were reportedly pressed into service along the main road where the official convoy was expected to pass.

“Some of them were applying glue inside the bolls and others were putting cotton on the bolls, while another group was attaching cotton capsules onto stalks in the front rows of the cotton field,” a resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity,

Hungary says fence finished on Croatian border

That didn't take very long.

https://ca.news.yahoo.com/hungary-says-fence-finished-croatian-border-123754633.html

BUDAPEST (Reuters) - Hungary's fence on its border with Croatia is finished and the army and police are capable of sealing off the border once a decision to do so is made, a top government official said on Thursday.

Hungary has seen more than 378,000 migrants pass through its territory so far this year, Janos Lazar, Prime Minister Viktor Orban's chief of staff, told journalists. He said by the end of the year the number of migrants reaching Hungary's borders could reach 600,000 to 700,000.

There are no technical obstacles to sealing the border with Croatia and it depends on the Brussels meetings and talks in next few days what decision Hungary will make, Lazar said.

Hungary has already built a fence along its border with Serbia despite criticism from international partners.

I'm feeling very happy this morning

A week and a half ago due to my own inattention and stupidity I left the back door ajar and one of our cats got out. I was snoozing on the couch and the dog flipped out and let me know. I had some evidence she had gone under the house, though we never saw her. I put a small critter trap out last night and lo and behold this morning we got her! She is very scared and spent several hours this morning following my wife around and being generally very clingy. Right now she has finally gone to sleep on our bed. The other animals have spend the past week and a half wandering all over the house looking for her.

BTW: her name is Schroedinger.
