On the day after the election I will...

Notice I did not mention a specific Candidate. That was on purpose. This is a more general question. I'm just curious how everyone feels.

IPTV cord cutting: Has anyone tried it?

I've been playing around with the Kodi app over the past few days. I have not yet settled on a provider, so I'm still just playing around with the free services. I will say, however even with free I've got thousands of channels from around the world and the US. Out of Britain I'm getting pretty much every cable only channel I have right now with Comcast.

it looks as if I can get 2000 channels for around $8 a month. Has anyone done this? What has your experience been?

2nd STRONGER earthquake strikes Italy today

Rome's historic centre has been shaken by two strong earthquakes which struck central Italy - just months after a quake in the same area killed hundreds.

One resident who lives near St Peter's Square said she "felt the apartment shaking and the walls cracking".

There are reports of panicked residents leaving their apartments and rushing onto the streets.

Officials at the Foreign Ministry evacuated their building and a landslide forced a section of the Salaria highway north of Rome to close.

The 1st was a 5.4, the second 6.1.

Do you canoe? You're a racist and a cultural appropriator.

Ah, the Canoe.

One of the seven wonders of Canada.

To some, a symbol of our connection to the natural world, a representation of our reverence for history, a tool of exploration and discovery.

To others, like Misao Dean, Professor of English at the University of Victoria, the canoe can be a symbol of colonialism, imperialism, and marginalization.

Dean is the author of the book Inheriting a Canoe Paddle: The Canoe in Discourses of English-Canadian Nationalism. In this interview, Dean asks us to consider the canoe, and what it really represents in Canadian society, and whose symbol it is. To Dean, the story Canadians tell themselves about the canoe is one of European colonialism, while ignoring the role the canoe played in displacing and harming indigenous people. She notes that hobbyist canoers today are a pretty specific group.

Certainly the majority of wilderness canoers are people who have a very privileged place in society. They're frequently highly educated people. They're almost completely white.
- Misao Dean, Professor of English, University of Victoria
Dean says that in the wake of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, non-indigenous Canadians should rethink the canoe. And they can do it every time the dip a paddle in the water.

I finally figured out how to decode Weather Fax transmissions

I finally managed to figure out how to decode Weather Fax with this SDR radio and Multipsk.

This is pretty cool. Part of a chart from the North American Ice Service showing the current iceberg limit.

So, SDR Radio v3 is out

I've been playing around with it the last few days. I've got to say I like it. I've got to say it's easy to use, and has a lot of features. It also interfaces very nicely with WXtoImg.

The only downside I can find is the RTTY decoder seems to have been removed, so now I have to rely on MULTIPSK. It's no big deal overall.
