According to Indian Muslims, winking during a song is "blasphemous".

At least the judge disagreed.

India's Supreme Court has dismissed a case against an actress over a movie scene that a Muslim group had argued was "blasphemous".

Priya Varrier is seen winking during a song in the video, which has gone viral in India this year.

The accusers said winking and giggling in a "sacred song" that refers to the Prophet Mohammed's wife was "an act of blasphemy".

The actress said that the complainants had "misunderstood" the song.

She petitioned the top court after police had registered a case filed by the group which demanded that the song be dropped from the film.

Chief Justice Dipak Mishra dismissed the case against Ms Varrier as well as the director and producer of the movie, saying: "Somebody in a film sings a song and you have no other job but to file a case."

The complainants said "the 30-second clip shows a schoolgirl and schoolboy exchanging smiles, eyebrows wiggle and winks", amounting to an "act of blasphemy" in such a song.

When the song was released in February, it went viral and Ms Varrier was one of the most searched for Indian people on the internet.

The scene of her winking inspired a trove of memes on social media and users dubbed her the "national crush" of India.

The movie, Oru Adaar Love, is a Malayalam language film about teenage love and Ms Varrier plays the role of a student.

The film will be released in September as the case delayed its original release date.

Depressurization in ISS. Potential micrometeorite strike

Personally I think the likelihood of a small piece of space junk is more likely.

"Pressure sensors detected a depressurization in the International Space Station (ISS) on Wednesday night.
The crew had to search for a leak, which was eventually traced to the Russian space capsule docked with the station.
The leak was found in the Soyuz craft, which is docked with the ISS, reported Russian space chief Dmitry Rogozin. The official said air was being sucked out through a 1.5mm fracture, which may have been caused by a micrometeorite impact.
“The crew safety is not in danger,” he said. “The spaceship will be kept, a repair kit will be used.”

Rogozin said the malfunction will require a sealant to be applied from the inside of the ship, so no emergency spacewalk will be required.

The leak was slow and posed no danger to people on board, according to NASA, with mission control deciding that crew members could sleep before locating it.

After waking at the regular time, the six crew members started search procedures and finally localized the leak to the Russian side of the station.

The ISS regularly requires small repairs of various systems, although a hull breach, even a small one, is a rare occurrence. Crew members usually have to deal with leaks from internal tubing, electrical problems or failures of life support devices, including the space toilet, which experienced a series of malfunctions in 2008."

Pure Evil: Man decapitated girlfriend after he 'had spoken with God'

He also took their toddler to 'say goodbye to Mommy' after the slaying, police say

When 32-year-old Timothy Hernandez's parents arrived at their Mount Vernon home after church Sunday afternoon, they found his girlfriend on the ground, with her head removed from her body and placed on the back of her torso, according to Mount Vernon police reports.

Hernandez is now charged with first-degree murder in Skagit County Superior Court, accused of plotting his 27-year-old girlfriend's death that morning. He would later tell police that he "had spoken with God," who told him to "strike down" his girlfriend. Their 3-year-old daughter also told investigators she witnessed the slaying.

After the parents called 911, cops arrived to find Vanessa Cons' body on the floor of the bedroom she shared with Hernandez, at the parents' house in the 1200 block of North 18th Street in the city about 60 miles north of Seattle.

The parents told officers that they had left for church between 9:30 and 10 a.m. that morning without seeing Hernandez or Cons. They found her body when they returned home about 12:45 p.m. The parents claimed the couple argued before going to bed the previous night.

Investigators found a butcher knife in the kitchen sink with a clean blade, but blood and human hair on the handle. They also spotted multiple stab wounds to Cons' back and the back of her head. They believe Hernandez sawed her head off from her body and placed it on the back of her torso, according to the incident report.

Police also found bloody clothing in a laundry basket and a chemical examination found bloody footprints around Cons' body that led to the kitchen sink, documents indicate.

Cops found Hernandez at the Cascade Mall in Burlington with the 3 1/2-year-old daughter he shared with Cons. After officers took him to the Mount Vernon Police Department for questioning, he claimed that God "told him to strike down his girlfriend ... because she did not repent," reports say.

He quoted two Bible verses that addressed women who did not follow God's word and were "struck down," Mount Vernon police wrote. He allegedly said he "gave Vanessa a chance to repent, but she did not," court documents indicate. He also reportedly claimed that "God works in mysterious ways and that he has to believe and not question God's will."

Hernandez then took their daughter to the mall. He contended that he was "not crazy" and claimed that "a crazy person would not tell the truth."

Investigators also spoke with the toddler. She claimed "she saw Daddy cut Mommy with scissors," according to the police report. She heard her mother scream prior to her death and then her father told her "she needed to go say goodbye to Mommy." She reportedly said she "did not know why Mommy had her eyes closed and blood on her face."

Hilarious, very sadistic series of commercials from the late 50's/early 60's.

Some of Jim Henson's earliest work.

Clean bill of health!

Had my post surgical checkup with the urologist yesterday and the colon surgeon today. All is doing MUCH better than expected. So much so we are talking about reversing this colostomy in 6 months rather than the initial prediction of 1 year.

Short Wave junkies: I didn't know this and it makes me sad

"The US issued a total of 25 aerograms through 1999. The production of United States aerograms has ceased. Linn's Stamp News in late 2006 reported that the United States Postal Service had announced as the supply of aerograms on hand at post offices were exhausted the stock would not be replenished. It quotes David Failor, Postal Service executive director of stamp services as explaining, "Demand for these has been next to nothing for the past five years.""

I think I still have a ton of these in my old school desk down at my mom's house.
