Am I the only one who still thinks it will be Jeb?

Here's how I see it unfolding. I believe the non-Trumps are going to pile on in such a way as to neutralize Cruz. At that point I believe the others will coalesce into an impromptu "anybody but Trump" alliance; and when push comes to shove, I believe Republicans will eventually gravitate to Bush as the safe "not Trump" candidate. Then at the end of the day, I simply can't believe that the GOP will actually nominate a bloviating, dishonest, side-show barker as their candidate to be the next President of the United states of America.
I have, however, been wrong before.

Here's what Trump had to say about another candidate who skipped a debate:

His sycophants will never acknowledge it because they're beyond help; but anyone else with two firing synapses knows without a shadow of a doubt that Trump is a phony, hypocritical gasbag.

Cruz lied about not having health care.

I'm shocked, I tell you, SHOCKED! No doubt it's still Obama's fault.

"In a reversal from claims made on the campaign trail, Ted Cruz's presidential campaign is now saying the senator and his family do have health insurance and never lost coverage. The late night Friday revelation came more than 24 hours after Cruz had told a New Hampshire audience that he and his family were without health insurance and were scrambling to obtain new coverage--and used the claim to slam Obamacare for the mess he was in.

Thursday, the senator had said he "got a notice in the mail" that "Blue Cross Blue Shield was leaving the market." When TPM had asked BCBS of Texas when and how had it notified members about changes to their coverage, an official pointed to an announcement in July that explained that the insurer was dropping its PPOs but its HMO plans would be available for consumers."

NBC is now confirming: Sarah Palin will endorse Trump.

Will this prove to be a net plus, minus, or will it have no effect?

Will Trump sue the Washington Post?

"The Washington Post has a very in-depth report tonight about his role in the bankruptcy of his Taj Mahal Atlantic City casino back in 1991. They concluded that Trump has repeatedly “play(ed) down his personal role” in its downfall.
And Trump responded by warning the paper he might sue them.
The Post––which chronicles Trump’s history in the casino business––obtained documents showing plenty of the people he interacted with at the time were very bitter because of unfulfilled promises.
At one point, the report features Trump’s testimony before the Casino Control Commission years before, in which he argued to get a casino license. He said at one point, “It’s easier to finance if Donald Trump owns it. With me, they know there’s a certainty they would get their interest.”

The story ran on the front page of Today's Washington Post. So will Trump put up, or shut up? Is he just huffing and puffing, or will he actually file a lawsuit? And if he sues, what will be the grounds … definition of character?

Another minor detail the esteemed Senator Cruz inadvertently overlooked.

In a letter sent to the Federal Election Commission, Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz for the first time acknowledged that he received a previously undisclosed loan from Citibank for his 2012 Senate campaign. The letter said that he received two loans, which came from Goldman Sachs and Citibank and totaled about $1 million, and that they were “inadvertently omitted." Cruz has often said he funded his Senate run by liquidating his family savings. Up to this point, Cruz had only acknowledged his loan from Goldman Sachs, where his wife works.

I'm beginning to think that boy may just be too damned forgetful to be President!

(Oh, yeah, but HILLARY post coming in 3 … 2 .. 1 …)

Bundy "bodyguard" lied about his service.

It seems that the badass "Marine" known as "Fluffy Unicorn" has never spent a day in the Corps.
I'm sure that everyone here is as shocked as I am.

"A key figure in the armed militia takeover of a federal building in Oregon has been posing as a retired US Marine to boost his 'combat' credentials, Daily Mail Online can reveal.

Brian Cavalier – the personal bodyguard of controversial ranchers Cliven and Ammon Bundy who lead the group – openly boasted to members of the press that he is a Marine who served in Afghanistan and Iraq.

But Daily Mail Online has learned that Cavalier, 44, has faked his military background to appear more credible as a militia henchman - a fact sure to anger some of the group's supporters.

According to US Marine Corp records Cavalier has never served as a Marine, whether it be as a recruit or a Marine Corps contractor."
