Another Trump Lie

The Trump Lie: Trump said Germany "owes vast sums of money to NATO" and the United States "must be paid more" for the defense it provides to Germany.

The Truth: NATO member nations agreed to spend 2 percent of their country’s GDP on defense by the year 2024. {Germany is currently spending 1.2% of GDP on defense}. But that’s not in any payments to NATO. Each country funds its own national defense, while NATO serves as an umbrella organization meant to protect all members.
The United States decides what level of military spending it wants to have, as do all the other NATO members. The U.S. does have an outsized military commitment to NATO, but this is not done as a favor for Europe; it’s done to benefit all countries in the alliance. The United States has several high-profile military bases in Germany that are vital to U.S. interests, serving as key launching points for attacks against terrorists in the Middle East.

Saudi King Salman gifts $1.2 billion items to Trump

A thank you from the Saudis for agreeing to sell $350 billion in U.S. weaponry over the next decade.

US President Donald Trump received gifts from Saudi King Shah Salman with worth of $ 1.2 billion during his first visit to kingdom.

The gifts given by Saudi King included a precious diamond, armband made of pure gold with King Salman’s photo imprinted on it and 25 kilogram heavy sword made of pure gold with different diamonds and stones on it.

The sword is worth of $ 200 million.

Furthermore, gold and diamond made watches, worth of $ 200 million, were also gifted to Trump and his family.

A small replica of Statue of Liberty but made with gold, diamond and precious stones will also be sent to White House soon.

Meanwhile, one of the major roads in Riyadh has also been named after Trump.

A 125 meter long yacht, which is world’s tallest personal yacht as it has 80 rooms with 20 royal suits, will also be sent through US navy to America.

John Boehner torches Trump's presidency

"Almost everything he's done 'has been a complete disaster'"

John Boehner, the former Speaker of the House who has been out of politics since 2015, doesn’t think very highly of Donald Trump’s presidency so far.

Energy trade publication RigZone reports that Boehner this week gave a keynote address at the KPMG Global Energy Conference in which he said that President Trump still seems to be “learning” how to do the job, although he admitted the results haven’t been good in the early going.

While Boehner cut Trump a break on the GOP’s troubled health care bill — “He did what he could,” the former speaker emphasized — he conceded that “everything else he’s done has been a complete disaster.” Additionally, Boehner threw cold water on hopes that the GOP will make significant progress on getting its legislative agenda passed in the near future. In particular, he thinks the GOP plan to reform the tax code faces some serious hurdles.

“I was a little more optimistic about it early in the year,” he said. “Now my odds are 60/40… the border adjustment tax is deader than a door nail… tax reform is just a bunch of happy talk.”

U.S.-Saudi Arabia Ink Largest Single Arms Deal in American History

A few years ago no one would have ever thought that a Muslim nation that produced 15 of the 9/11 radical Islamic fundamentalist terrorists would be the recipient of the largest weapons sale in U.S. history,

"The United States and Saudi Arabia have inked a $110 billion arms deal, the largest in American history, according to senior Trump administration officials who described the agreement as part of a major effort to counter Iranian threats in the region.

The arms deal will see the U.S. providing Saudi Arabia with a "full spectrum of capabilities," including tanks, artillery, helicopters, armored carriers, combat ships, and an assortment of other advanced weapons systems, according to senior Trump administration officials working on the agreement.

The massive arms package is part of a larger effort by the Trump administration to boost U.S. allies in the region amid a growing threat from Iran, which has invested heavily in its own military since the landmark nuclear agreement was inked with the former Obama administration.

This package is threat-based and provides full-spectrum capabilities, which fall broadly into five categories: border security and counterterrorism; maritime and coastal security; air force modernization; air and missile defense; and cybersecurity and communications upgrade," Trump administration officials said. 'Combined, it will significantly augment the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's capabilities to help deter regional threats and the Kingdom's ability to protect its borders and contribute to coalition counterterrorism operations.'"
