NAACP Warns Minorities, Women Heading To Missouri: 'They May Not Be Safe'

I hear parts of St. Louis and surrounding such as Ferguson are not that nice and should be avoided.
NAACP delegates have approved a travel advisory warning marginalized groups that “they may not be safe” if they go to Missouri because their civil rights are likely to be violated.

The delegates voted Wednesday to nationally adopt the advisory, which was put in place statewide in June, according to the Springfield News-Leader. The advisory ― directed at people of color, women, people who identify as LGBTQ and those with disabilities ― cites recent legislation signed by Gov. Eric Greitens (R) that makes it even more difficult to sue for housing or employment discrimination.

NAACP Springfield chapter President Cheryl Clay and other chapter members emphasized that this is not a boycott, but a warning and a response to the legislation.

“Our ongoing issues of racial profiling, discrimination, harassment and excess violence towards people of color have been further exacerbated by the passage and signing of 43,” Clay said in a statement to the News-Leader.

U.S. economy accelerated during first full Trump quarter

The U.S. economy gathered momentum during the first full quarter with President Trump in charge.

Economic growth accelerated to an annual rate of 2.6% from April through June, the government said Friday. That was about what economists had expected.

Second-quarter growth more than doubled the sluggish pace from the first three months of the year. First-quarter economic growth was revised down to 1.2%.

The economy gained steam in part because of stronger consumer spending, according to the Commerce Department. Helped by the strong job market, personal spending grew at a 2.8% pace, faster than in the first quarter.

Big used tanning injections to become “African dark” and breast implants to become a size 32S to achieve her new look, the New York Post reported Wednesday.

During a trip to the famous Hollywood sign, Big said that “last time I visited this with blonde hair and white skin — and now I’m a black woman with African hair.”
Despite backlash, Big reiterated her strong desire to become a black woman. “ the most beautiful gift in the world,” she said, adding that she is planning on permanently converting to a black ethnicity.
