in Bernard Cornwell's latest book in the Saxon Tales series, "War of the Wolf".

"Fenrir is a monstorous wolf, son of a god, who lies bound and fettered because even the gods fear him ... "

Have you read any of Cornwell's Saxon Tales series? The Norse gods play heavily in the life of the main character, Uhtred of Bebbanberg.
