22. Let's unpack a couple things with that

First, who is claiming racism doesn't exit? Yes the term has lost meaning and no longer being taken seriously because it is being used to label things that are not racism for the sake to trying to leverage the negative connotation connected to the term. That does not mean that actual racism doesn't exist. Now you will get people pointing out that institutionalized racism is no longer a problem at least in the US and that's a legitimate claim. Of course the fact that a lot of people who want to misuse the terms can't seem to grasp what the phrase institutionalized racism actually means does cause some confusion.

As to slavery being racist. Not in and of itself because slavery is not by definition inherently based on race. As practiced in the US pre Civil War yes that was racist because it was a key component to a system of superiority based almost if not entirely on race. So slavery is not necessary racial but in that case it was.
