6. What you always hear is "poverty...legacies*...lack of education...jobs..." etc., etc,

in other words: excuse-making.

In point of fact, not one of these excuses has the slightest bit of validity: people commit crimes, not poverty or "legacies" or "lack of education" or "lack of good-paying jobs." Otherwise, for instance, the Great Depression, when the poverty rate was nearly 25%, would have been the most lawless era in American history. In fact, crime rates were negligible and in fact lower per capita back then than they are today when one adjusts for population and demographics.

Of course, liberals are not ready to talk honestly about these things: whenever you hear a liberal say "we need to have a conversation about race" what they really mean is "SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO OUR POLITICALLY CORRECT LECTURE ON WHITE PRIVILEGE!!!!!111"

*the babbling about "the legacies of slavery" (abolished more than 150 years ago)..."the legacies of Jim Crow" (abolished fifty-two years ago in the few areas it existed)..."the legacies of segregated schools" (abolished sixty-two years ago)...and on and on and on. All nothing more than excuse-making.
