In your opinion, what are valid grounds for impeachment and removal of a president

Trump’s Defense team submitted their response saying, essentially, that, even if proven, Abuse of Power and Obstruction of Congress are not valid reasons to remove a president. They are saying the president is above the law and cannot be held accountable for anything.

Dershowitz takes it to a further extreme:

So, I’m genuinely curious, in the opinions of my fellow DI’ers, what specific presidential conduct rises to the level deserving of impeachment and removal? Do you agree with Dershowitz’s position above?

Sondland: there WAS a Quid Pro Quo

WSJ is reporting that Sondland is revising his testimony to Congress and stating that indeed, there was a quid pro quo for releasing Congressionally approved military aid to Ukraine in exchange for Unkraine launching investigations into the Bidens.

I guess Sondland decided he didn't want to go to jail for perjury...

Not single new mile of wall has been constructed despite Trump's lies

From the conservatives' second favorite quotable Washington paper (after Rev. Moon's Times):

The Trump administration has not installed a single mile of new wall in a previously fenceless part of the U.S.-Mexico border in the 30 months since President Trump assumed office, despite his campaign promise to construct a “big beautiful wall.”

In a statement last week, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the federal agency overseeing border barrier construction, confirmed that all the fencing completed since Trump took office is "in place of dilapidated designs" because the existing fence was in need of replacement

... In Trump’s two and a half years in office, his administration has installed an average 1.7 miles of barrier per month, and none of it in areas that did not previously have some sort of barrier. A total 205 miles of new and replacement barrier has been funded in the two and a half years since Trump took office.

Sorry GOP voters, looks like there might be no 2020 primaries...

First the news that the RNC had merged with Trump 2020 to form a single entity, Trump Victory (or TV for short), now comes the news that South Carolina is considering cancelling it's 2020 primary election, to protect Trump against challengers. Not sure what this might mean for down ticket primaries. I wonder how many other states will follow suit, and what it means for those states that do hold GOP primaries...

Wow, talk about a coronation...
